Good Evening, UESP Forums and UESP Wiki (New User)

Post by MrBenC »

Good evening folks. I'm fairly new to the Elder Scrolls' Series.

A short while back I picked up a copy of Skyrim on Steam during one of those sales, when I saw the "Legendary Edition" (all DLC) for about $30. I was skeptical; having come from the GTA series, Half-Life series, Portal series, and Fallout Series. I wasn't sure if a game that involved a medieval environment, dragons, and mystical creatures would appeal to me. On the other hand, many folks I've talked to like it, so there's got to be something redeeming about it, right? So, I decided to take a chance. Even if it turned out terrible, $30 wasn't going to break the bank.

It turned out I liked it a great deal. I played it extensively, even used mods (the lazy way via Nexus), and eventually even obtained a copy of Morrowind and Oblivion. I will not be playing ESO, but that's because the MMO concept is not compatible with the way I do things online. Not knocking those who do enjoy it; if you do and it makes you happy, more power to you!

I do not expect to post very much, if at all. However, I do idle in the chat. As I'm connected virtually 24/7, please do not be offended if occasionally I may not speak, as I do have my life to live and I remain connected the entire time. That does not mean I'm necessarily ignoring you.

Merged with appropriate thread

Bad news, a relative has surgery that needs to be done this Wednesday. I won't be around to get art requests or a TSC post done for about two weeks while my relative recovers.

Later today I'm gonna be leaving to go to my grandpa's funeral in Portland, I'll probably be gone until about next Wednesday. Might be able to check in every now and then, but Iunno when/where I would be able to find WiFi.

I'll be gone at a cottage this week, and I probably won't be able to get on the Internet until I get home next Friday or Saturday. So... bye for now!

Hello to all!

I am new (duh!) so introductions are in order. My useename is what I use on all forums, so anyone from TS3 (been a whileas their site is NOT mobile friendly), dragon cave (again, mobile issues), or fish forums like betta fish and their parrent site TFK, should recognise my crazy self. For everyone else, I'm a female that's too old to be a kid, but still young enough to have them. I've been with the same great man for 6 years who shares my passion for gaming. I'm an off line gamer as I prefer playing alone or couch co-op (plus, the internet bill would be insane!). We have a lot of pets (all girls) including a minpin, a rat terrier, a 25 gallon np betta soriety, and 2 sand boas. Skyrim was our first ES game and we are both hooked. We have been playing on and off since shortly after it came out for PS3 and now own the legendary edition. I also like the AC series, Sims series, some of the final fantisy series, LEGO series (stupid and childish but oh so fun especially when we play together), Kingdom Hearts series, and more. We're currently saving up to buy a system that plays NES and SNES games and the games from our list to relive our old childhood favorites.

I am also a total book nerd and have a passion for reading. I litterally have multiple bookshelves full of books and a kindle. I've even read all the in game books!

Well, that should be enough for now. Have an awesome day and happy questing!

PS: Just wanted to give every one the heads up that I have trouble with sarcasium and reading between the lines. I usually take what anyone has to say litterally. Also, if I ever come off sounding harsh or angry, I'm usually not. The joys of Asperger's right? My aunt always said I was a steaming pile of useless information too XD
I'm not speaking in tongues. I just can't smell to shave my wife!

Lol, I will do no such thing! XD

No I love sarcasim, kidding around, and such, but sometimes I get confused by sarcasim. That's normally only when it can be misread as a nasty insult with no emoticon after showing it was all in jest. Reading between the lines is completely lost to me. It's always better to tell me what you mean or concrete rules instead of general, open to interpritation, everybody automatically knows this kinda stuff.

SWEETROLL!!! omnumnumnumnum *burps* yummy :D

I don't know. I do have an aweful lot of useless information ;)

I gotta say, I wasn't expecting any place remotely active on Skyrim, but I was happy to be proven wrong. I use yall's wiki all the time and have several of the pages copied and pasted on my phone. I actually originally came on to look for help with A Dedra's Best Friend glitch and help picking out a spouse for my vampire lord.

Speaking of which, where would I go for help with that?

More info (ps3 with minimal spoilers)
Quest glitch
Spoiler:
I was on my way to another quest when I triggered Find the Dog Outside Falkreath, so I went and finished the first quest before starting A Dedra's Best Friend. Somehow I missplaced the frest meat, so I got some more fresh meat. I tried every type of meat in the game, tried putting meat on the quest marker, and waited for two days, one hour at a time and still no Dog. I then discovered I had a ratiant quest to get a random enchanted sword from a dungon triggered by a note which was in the location the axe was supposed to be during the dedra quest. I went ahead and did it thinking it would fix the problem. Nope. Then I went through the cave and killed all the vampires to see if he had went in without me. Still nothing. Any suggestions? I've never had this happen before.
Marriage
Spoiler:
I'm looking for a spouse for my vampire lord. I want someone who can accept the gift, wont report me if I take stolen items out of a container in my own home (or call stupid guards), is level 40 cap or higher (or a strong 30 or higher) or esential, and not voice acted by someone that makes me want to rip off my own arm and beat them with it (anyone who will switch to generic Faendal or Camilla dialogue is a no). Followers and favors that open up the marriage option that can be completed before finding the dragon stone (as I always wait forever to do that because I get tired of regular questgivers getting freakin killed!) is a plus. Gender, race, or otherwise is irrelivant as she intends to use them as a cover and feeding stock. Also, a steward with about the same stats would be nice.

Also, I read somewhere that Lover's Comfort and Mother's Love wont stack if the spouse is is the same gender as the dragonborn. Is this true?
By the way, I had an idea the other day for a page on USPS. There are a lot of locations that are awesome to visit, but never get quest markers to go to them while others could be missed. What about a page with must see places or minor/easily missed quests in skyrim? Bard's Leap would be one. That lighthouse (you know the one) would be another. Narfi has a sad little sidequest that can be done before that faction quest. I know there is an easter egg page already, so those wouldn't need to be mentioned.

Edit: I also posted a lore question about argonians on the thread "Quick Lore Questions For Interview!" if anyone knows the answer.

Question: Someone sent me a PM, but it will be several days yet until I am allowed to reply. How can I let them know I got their PM, but can't reply to it for a few days? I feel impossibly rude for not replying.

PS: I created Daedra's Best Friend Wont Trigger (ps3) for my bug question. It isn't listed on the quest page and definitly broke the quest, so it might be something to look into.

My Argonion questions were posted in Quick Lore Questions For Interview! if anyone knows the answer. You can pm me if that's easier.

I still don't know where to go for help with choosing a spouse. I've narrowed it down, but would like an objective opinion. I don't want another terribly voiced spose. Also, I read somewhere that mother's love and lover's comfort don't stack if your spouse is the same gender as the dragonborn. Is that true? And if I am able to pickpocket my spouse's apparel and upgrade it, will they default to it if I give it back (follower) or would it have to be pickpocketed back to default, or will they run around naked once I take their apparel?

Note: All links as to USPS pages

Hi Bluewind! Welcome to the forums! :D

This thread is meant to be only for initial hellos and goodbyes, not really for general discussion or advertisement of posts made elsewhere. If you have questions about the forum in general, feel free to use the Ask A Mod thread in the future! Otherwise, just wait for a bit, as all new posts show up in the Active Posts List.

To answer your question about PMs, you're already a Confirmed User, so you can reply via PM. If you weren't, you could still reply via email using the email button below the message.

I'll give you links to help with your other questions via PM.

Again, welcome! :D
