Re: I wish I never bought this!
Most recently I would have to say Assassin’s Creed 3. I enjoyed the series up to this game, but couldn't stand the direction the game went in. I am not sure what it was but I couldn’t get into this at all. A big let down IMO.

Oh yes, Assassin's creed as well. I did not enjoy that game at all for some reason.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
How anyone ever thought Fable was a good game is beyond me.
Let's take a look at this Steam library.
Assassin's Creed II. Not really my thing, but it was a gift so it doesn't count.
Bully. Did someone find this fun? Why?
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. Shabby, unrefined, boring. I don't know why people are so crazy about this game.
SEGA Bass Fishing. I hope I don't have to explain.
Sonic Adventure DX. Unplayable.
Trauma. I don't even. This isn't a game. This is more like an engine demonstration. An engine written in 1998.
Alpha Protocol. Bleh.
Game of Thrones. Granted, I didn't expect much. But I didn't expect wanting to quit within 5 minutes of gameplay either.
Mass Effect. I don't get people who like this game. I tried, but I just can't do it.
Nethergate Ressurection. Oldschool is nice and all, but when the controls are so obscure that I can't even exit the first room, get stuffed.
Gotham City Impostors. Why developers insist on making their own counterintuitive matchmaking systems, game distribution platforms and so on is beyond me. I got an account under the name WickedPorcupine2. I didn't choose that account, I was just suddenly logged into it. I have to wait for 2 seperate distribution platforms to sync every time I try to play, and getting into a match takes up to half an hour. No thanks.

I'm with you guys with Assassin's Creed 3, funny enough I can't explain why it's bad either.
What if I told you that I didn't liked Morrowind when I bought it? After playing oblivion and playing it again I can say it's very good, but in the time when I bought it I just wish I had chosen Neverwinter Nights. It was too hard and complex to me.

Mohawk? On a Mohawk. Don't know how that's bad. It's because the quest line is so linear. It tells you every step to do. There's no literal assassinations. You can run in guns blazing and be fine. That's why it's not as good. Which is why AC4 is going back to how AC1 was.

The DS version of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. I really like the Wii version, but I got the DS version before I got a Wii. It's so watered down it's not funny. The first playthrough took me 4 hours; on speedruns, I think my record is 54 mins.

Hmmm ...
The extra maps CD for Duke Nukem 3D was pretty terrible, though I still have it
Same with Deus Ex 2, though I had to have it
Oh and From Dust, unless they finally fixed some of the console-to-PC port issues and having to use Ubisoft's launcher (when they said we wouldn't). Haven't bought an Ubisoft game since and intend not to

Re: I wish I never bought this!
One game I'm ashamed to have in my collection is "Dragon's Lair" on the NES. I played the arcade-version on a trip abroad and I fell in love with the animated cartoon-cutscenes, so I got my parents to buy the NES-version of the game for my birthday a couple of months later. With soaring high expectations of cartoon greatness, I plugged it into my Nintendo...and got this:
It's 20 years later, and I still haven't got past the first screen of the game!

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Nothing wrong there - Morrowind is like the bully of the TES series, in my opinion. It likes to take you into the school yard, beat you up and steal your money, and continues to do so until you slowly become friends - then you have this weird, twisted relationship where you both go to town and cause chaos together, laughing your butts off in the end. It's really tough to get into, I think, because it's so damn hard in the beginning. Toward the end you get more gratification.deathm00n wrote:What if I told you that I didn't liked Morrowind when I bought it? Can't go wrong with Neverwinter Nights. I was thinking of firing up 2 again, myself.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Let me quickly grab my Steam library.
*ahem*
Here it goes:
Arma 2: While fun, the game is quite buggy and performance is poor. I also bought Arma 3 Alpha a few months after I bought Arma 2.
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead: Idem.
Borderlands: Visually pleasing, but the story and gameplay was dull. I also don't have any friends to play with and BL solo is quite boring.
Braid: I normally like Indie gaming, but Braid was just a pretentious POS imho. It doesn't really stand out in terms of gameplay and the quotes about relationships were just so... lame. Music and graphics are nice, though.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare : It's pretty fun, but I just don't have the time for another multiplayer game. I don't really know why I bought this.
Dead Island: Lame overall.
Evochron Mercenary: Just not the kind of Space Sim I was looking for.
Left 4 Dead 2: Again, no friends to play with.
Terraria: Minecraft in 2D I think. But why?
Torchlight II: Again no friends (poor me). And Path of Exile (which is free) is actually better imo.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
The games I regret buying are the following:
Final Fantasy XIII - This was the game that yelled in my face until I got it through my head that I will never enjoy a JRPG.
CoD WaW: This game was just so horrible. The story mode was bland and felt like it lasted forever. The multiplayer was even worse.
Portal 2: Okay so I got it for a steal on release date ($34), but even then the price tag did not make up for how boring it was for me.
RAGE: [&@%!] that game... Enough said.
Halo CE Anniversary: I never played through the story on this one because (SHOCKER!
) I've done it before.
Borderlands 2: A repeat of the first one. The only reason I still have it is because I got DLC for it.
Assassin's Creed 3: Conner ruined the entire game for me. Haythem should have been the player character for the entire game and it would've been so much better.
Lollipop Chainsaw:
Innocent fun for the first three levels, I swear. Seriously though, it was way to short and repetitive.
Happy Wars: Okay it was free, but still a piece of [&@%!].
And on the subject of Fable 3 & 2, they could have been better. I agree with Avron's previous statement though, the whole series is a joke not to be taken seriously.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Dragon Age 2: DAO is one of my all time favourite RPGs. It is excellent and had a lot of complex themes in it as well as choices that could make your life harder and excellent NPCs. It introduced me to RPGs. Then DA2 happened. WHAT A PILE OF [&@%!] [&@%!]! Where do i start? The dumbed combat that results in tatics being [&@%!] worthless, the recycled maps? Forcing the player to play as a human, crap companions apart from 1 or2. The choices meant nothing so you could be total dick and nothing bad would happen. The story was a bit of a mess. The 3rd act was blantly rushed and the ending is always the same. You will always fight 2 bosses despite them having no [&@%!] to be a boss. Ahem, it is just [&@%!] and is a stain on the honour of the DA Franchise. DA3 had better be good otherwise i'm going to abandon Bioware. Seriously, stay away from DA2 if you loved DAO as it will take a massive [&@%!] on your memories of it. In fact, i was unable to play the game untill last year due to it destroying my love for the game. [&@%!] YOU EA AND BIOWARE! [&@%!] Dovah is [&@%!]. *takes a time out in the corner* And then there is the [&@%!] lack of interacts with your companions. And to [&@%!] off fans even more, your love interest only interacts with you a few time over the course of a decade! A BLOODY DECADE! Also, Kirkwall is a city run by the Templars. If Hawke is a mage, he should have been caught at least one. Not walk around the damn city with a [&@%!] staff on his back and wearing clothes that shout, "I'M A MAGE". Oh and to "Balance" the party, you can't have a sibling that is a mage because having both Hawkes as a mage wouldn't leave room for any interesting stuff.
Some Morrowind fans claim that Skyrim is the worst game in the TES franchise. At least that doesn't take a [&@%!] on the previous game and have a ton of illogical choices that basically tells the player to [&@%!] off if they did someting in the previous gam.... *Is removed from the thread by the mods*
BF3:Tis average and generic. It's only good for the MP and because i can't connect to PSN, it's doomed to sit on my shelf untill i get a better connection. Oh and because of the massive patches.

Well Dovah, don't blame Bioware, blame EA, they almost demanded that a new game were launched as soon as possible. And BF3 is meant to be played in MP, the campaign is really short. Why can't you connect to the PSN?

As for Mars. You would be wise not to anger a Dovah.

No but something that wasn't generic. BF3 was generic.
I think DA2 is a game that we should agree to disagree on to avoid the thread being turned into TheDovah rants on about DA2 and devours half of the Wiki's population.
