I wish I never bought this!
Have you ever bought a video game, then played it and wish you hadn't? Tell us your experiences!
I bought Fable 3 because I thought they would finally have all the kinks worked out and give a great RPG experience. I enjoyed the first playthrough most of the time, but after a while I decided it wasn't worth it. I kinda wish I had rented it.

I can't think of a game that I've bought and haven't liked. I seem to be quite lucky.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Final Fantasy XIII. I bought it because it is one of my best friend's favourite games and he recommended it to me. I wasn't fond of it, I stopped after about 5 hours because I didn't want to keep playing. One of my other friends said it was because I got stuck, it wasn't, I just didn't want to keep playing. However he has recommended/given me the lend of plenty of other stuff that I have liked. XIII is just an odd one out really.
Sonic 2006. That game... It is just terrible, never play it. I only lasted a couple of hours before I took it back to the store and traded it in. I don't even want it to be around me.
A thing to keep in mind in that opinions are subjective. Games aren't objectively good or bad, it is all subjective.

Opinions on XIII are REALLY split. I like the game personally, but I'd never recommend it to my friends because it's just not something everyone would like.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:Final Fantasy XIII. I bought Shadow the Hedgehog when it first came out. I played it for a while and was all excited about it at first, but then I stopped what I was doing and was just like "Wait a moment... this SUCKS."

Re: I wish I never bought this!
I haven't had that many bad games, like everyone else it was always a rare incident. But two games I will never ever play again is Sonic Riders, and Call of Duty 3. Both of them are just horrible and should never be played at all, though I shouldn't have been surprised the Sonic game played like a bad Mariokart ripoff. Anyway, point is that they're probably the only games I've played that I wish I never bought and Kerr is absolutely right, opinion on something is always subjective.

Fable. [&@%!]. Three.
Argh... It is such a massive fop for so very many reasons. And it is made all the worse by all the potential, not just lore potential, like with the bad Game of Thrones RPG, which was bad all around. It had so many seeds of a very very good game, they were just absolutely smothered by the bad-ness.
And Molyneux's hyping never helps anything. >.<
I bloody bought the limited edition on the day of release!

Every Halo game. Every sports game. Every CoD made by treyarch. GHWT. I don't really buy games unless I've rented them or know ill like them. So I have more regret with games I've rented.

I've honestly have played fable 3 through like 8-10 different times.
Re: I wish I never bought this!
I really enjoy Fable 3, though the shopping was terrible. I preferred Fable 2's method. The shops felt fuller.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
I haven't played any fable. A large part of the reason is me not owning a 360. Mind you I will probably buy one for real low cheap after this generation. Even then I don't know If I'll play any of them. Although I do know that in Fable 3 they keep calling a coup a revolution because either they don't know the difference or it just sounds better.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Loved 2. 3 was pretty freaking bad in my opinion. Completely regret getting it. The only good that I got out of that game, is that it was a nice, easy, non-childish game that I gave to my sister to ease her into becoming a gamer. Because to be completely fair, Fable is really really easy.
There's too many games to count that I regret getting. Like, a lot. I have about 70-80 games for my Xbox 360, and about 20-30 that I really never cared for. In case you thought I have too many games, it's because I do. But I've only bought 2 games for $60 (Halo 4 and Skyrim). The rest? Bargain bin for less than 20 bucks. Some far less than 20 bucks (Gears of War series I got for 6 dollars). But then again, it's tough to complain when they're so damn cheap.
And then there's GameCube, which I have about 30 or so games. Not too many complaints there surprisingly. Only one I really hated was Bionicle and Shrek.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Fable 3 is officially "that game I play to screw around and be lulzy." It was such a letdown that I see it strictly as a joke, and thus treat it as such.
I don't regret too many purchases: I tend to think long and hard about games before buying them, as I'm not an impulse buyer. I do have a few joke titles in my Steam library, but most of them are gifts. Secret of the Magic Crystal is...an inside joke.

I could dig through the countless games I've purchased because they included access to the beta of a game I actually wanted to play...I could, but I'm too lazy
Or how about every original launch game except Halo when the Xbox came out
Any flying simulator
Any fighting game
Any racing sim
Ah, the whimsy of youth and shiny things...

The only game I truly regret is IL-2 Sturmovik. If you have played it, you understand. It is the worst flying simulator I have ever played. Ever!

On simulator difficulty, it was like trying to pilot a leaf.
IL2: Birds of Steel was a lot better on Simulator.

Re: I wish I never bought this!
Diablo 3. Short story, everything comes down to if the armor gives a boost to your damage output, the unlocked "runes" don't feel different, and to top it all off, repetitive gameplay that can be summed up with the following chart:
60 bucks I could have spent on other things, a lot of other things.

I feel sorry for some people "trying" to play the new Sim City.. too many server problems.. >_> unfair to wait half an hour multiple times just to play a singleplayer game you payed for..

Re: I wish I never bought this!
I shall keep going on bad games.
Enemy Territory, Quake Wars (PC): Very limited range of maps, no real story, unlocked equipment is reset at the end of the 3 round circuit.
Sonic Generations (3DS): Almost no variety between New and Retro Sonic, lacking a lot of the levels available on the consoles, etc.
Game Party (Wii): Almost like Wii play, but worse. Didn't even contain a Wiimote with it. You don't get to use your Mii, and most of the games outright suck.
Ice Age 2 (Wii): Never even got past the first level, due to the lack of anything resembling a tutorial.
Samba De Amigo (Wii): Fun as an arcade game, but as a game for the Wii it gets tedious, good as an arm exercise, but not for much else.
Pirates vs Ninjas Dodgeball (Wii): plays just as ridiculously as it sounds.
Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (Wii): Okay as a racing game, works as more of an upper arm exercise though.
This is just what I can see from my desk... When you get as many games for the Wii as I do, you tend to come across a lot of sucky ones.
