Re: Loss of Spells
The real reason they took out those spells, from a development perspective, was that they wanted to optimize the game for the console market (keep it small and simple), and those spell effects tested poorly in XBox polling groups from Oblivion. It had nothing to do with "balance" or "redundancy ...

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
High horses? I feel like almost everyone had a legitimate reason for being disappointed? None of them would make the game less accessible for no players except adding more spells and skills, god forbid people learn about a game. The hype on this game was so high people would have learned the old ...

Re: Things you hate about skyrim
I'm just pointing out the facts, facts which I think we can all agree on. Skyrim has been very clearly designed for the XBox, and for very obvious reasons. Whether this is a sign of progress or the slow choking death of a once amazing series, I'll leave to you and your own better judgement.

Re: Lockpicking the only way...
Well lock picking perk tree would need to be reworked if they added open to alteration, because as it stands right now the lockpicking tree requires way too many useless perk points to get 1 or 2 decent improvements; but I agree it's lame to play a "warrior" or "mage" type character and have to use ...

how it takes anywhere between five to ten seconds (sometimes longer) to actually 'finish opening' after I press B. And I've installed the game for crying out loud.

All my characters are stormcloaks. I see the thalmor as a sort of tyrannical christian inquisitors (capturing nords for worshiping Talos, torturing them and then executing them).

After doing some ini tweaks, FXAA injector mod, a couple 3rd party texture mods, loaded on a SSD, cranking up AA / AF, and playing on a 120hz monitor, the longest load time in the game is the load-in from the start menu at 2.5 seconds ...

Why all the Nords always keeping the Khajiit's down?
We Khajiit's need to fight the power! I vote for a 3rd faction for politics in skyrim; Stormcloaks, Imperials, and Moon-Sugar-Marauders

I picked Markarth. City built right into the mountain. Waterfalls right in the city. Nice art style for buildings and such. Looks great and has my favorite buyable house. Markarth home imo is perfect mix between quality, and rugged looks. The home doesn't look as beat up and run down as whiterun or ...

Re: Constant Finishers?
For finishers it matters a lot how you and the opponent are positioned and what kind of opponent it is.
For example, If you do a stealth back-stab while you and a men/mer target are standing on even ground, you will get a cutthroat animation 100% of the time if the stab is lethal.

I'd like to see a mod that makes finisher kills happen 75% to 100% of the time :P.

No, they compounded their errors. They improved upon their successes. In general, what Oblivion got right, Skyrim got more right. What Oblivion got wrong, Skyrim got more wrong. There are exceptions, of course- Oblivion's size has been toned down, which sucks, but at least they decided to revive ...

Cooking is useful at low levels, but soon after it loses it's usefulness.
It could be improved upon, but I suspect that I wasn't intended to be an alchemy replacement (since there are no skill levels / perks associated with cooking). It was just something to do to get you started in the game.

I like to make a Khajiit, raise nothing but heavy armor and smithing. Disenchant gloves of the puglist. Use heavy armor unarmed perk + smith-enhanced heavy armor gauntlets + khajiit claws. Set difficulty to master, Strip down naked wearing nothing but gauntlets, and punch dragons to death.
