You will know everything and anything about the gameplay, patches, and bugs people are experiencing by reading through this thread here. It discusses all consoles, but there is an active discussion now about Xbox360 and PS3.

It's like the other versions, until you get maybe 40+ hours in, then the game gradually becomes unplayable. It's honestly not worth buying on PS3 now, it's insulting.

I paly it on PS3 and it is ok. Yeah, occasionally game runs slow (when dragon lands and throws away dust all over - probably particles problem; 1 month, 3 slow-downs) and sometimes it freezes (1 month, 3 freezes), but it's generally ok.

I have finished main quest, done about 80 miscelaneous and did some guild quests (from all guilds). I still continue this character, it can hae about 70 hours in the game and it still runs well. Except for longer loading times. The game shows some tips or info about the game when loading and this info switches to another one after some time. At the beginning it took 1 and 1/4 of text displayed, now it takes almost 3 text displayed (laoding times are twice as long). My savegame has 9,3MB now. The first one can have 1/3 of it? I really don't know this.

I'm on the PS3 as well, turn off the auto save functions and save manually. This solved half of my problems. It is unfortunate that the game has a lot of little problems, but It did win game of the year in spite of all that. I Think you will be missing out on a lot of fun if you skip it just because of a few bugs. With out the bugs this might have gone down as one of the best games ever.

Just want to add that my savegame has 11MB now. I have tried travelling on a horse and it's pain in the @55 because game is really laggy. It's caused by slow loading of the world before you. Stopping after some time and waiting for the world to load solves the problem (RP players may say their horse needs to rest :-P ).

And this is even worse when you paly all day long (say 12 hours) without restarting the game... When your estart it, everything goes faster again ;-)

But so far, I'm pleased with the game.

Someone has tried to get a relationship between lag problems/crash with the model of ps3? (fat, slim, 40gb, 80gb...)

Maybe I am a little late in that party, but I didn't found any statistic of that kind, and that should help to uncover the problem. I mean, obviously the problem is with the game and not the console, but maybe is not occurring in all types of ps3.

I believe it doesn't matter what console you have, from my experience it is the game using too much memory over time, thats probably the reason for running smother when you restart (it clear the memory of the console), than after a feel hours the memory starts to get too much information to handle xD
I did not play skyrim on PS3 yet, but played Fallout 3 and Oblivion, and in both games I encountered the same problems.. to a point where I press the "open the menu buttom" and it would take 2-3 seconds just to open the menu :(

The system could effect how quickly and/or how bad the problem gets? I have a slim 80GB and it dose run better than my launch day system did. So far i have encountered this problem after long play sesions but its not made the game unplayable. Usually its just stutters as i run by people and they try to talk to me.

I don't believe the type of PS3 makes a difference to the Skyrim lag/crash problems. The issue here is the PS3's RAM and how it's handled by the console. All PS3 variants have the same amount of RAM, (512 MB), and they all split the RAM into two blocks of 256 MB: one block dedicated for video memory and the other block dedicated to "System Main Memory."

Play it on a PC. (The way video games are meant to be played)

After doing some ini tweaks, FXAA injector mod, a couple 3rd party texture mods, loaded on a SSD, cranking up AA / AF, and playing on a 120hz monitor, the longest load time in the game is the load-in from the start menu at 2.5 seconds (Rest are under 1-2 seconds). And graphics compared to my friend's PS3 are so much better you'd think you were looking at a different game.

And after the 4GB exe mod, I haven't crashed once.

PC ftw.

My main problem isn't even the lag, its how often it freezes. I have to restart my ps3 at least once every time I play.... and my play time doesn't go any longer than 3, 4 hours per day. It does lag a lot on my older character (I can't say exactly how many play hours it has right now) but deleting useless save files usually makes it a bit better, and disabling auto saving too.

It's still a great game and I would recommend it on the ps3 if you're patient enough. I'm used to play laggy games on the PC so, it's no biggie for me

Hmm, no, not useless.

Might inspire the person to make the smarter purchasing choice next time he or she buys gaming equipment. Instead of blowing money on the next junk console, maybe put that money into a nice PC.

Yes, useless. This topic has nothing to do with PC.

Actually, it kind of does.

Because he wouldn't have these problems if he played the game on the right platform.
