When was Riften's name changed?
I was just reading through Biography of Queen Barenziah when I noticed that Riften was spelled "Rifton". When did they change the name of the Skyrim hold?

Re: When was Riften's name changed?
A lot changed in Skyrim for the game Skyrim. Karthwatsen and Marktah totally swapped places, a number of towns were relegated to Forts and some seem to have disappeared. Not much fidelity there. For a Lore explanation, I can't say when, but I'd put it down to the ravages of time and the [&@%!] of the word as the Nordic language developed, or a simple change in the way people spelled it for some social reason.
