Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
Here's something that I think most of us noticed in the trailer:
Texture artist, go home, you are drunk. Seriously, these better not be the final textures, and from the looks of it, that dragon's soft texture was a bug, as it shows the Dragonborn riding another dragon later on in the trailer, with textures just like you would expect. Very peculiar.

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
I've seen that bug in game before but I wouldn't have thought Beth would show off a glitch in their trailer. Maybe it's some form of special dragon only present in Hermaeus Mora's realm, that deliberately looks like the dragon from How to Train Your Dragon.

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
Read up on Mora's realm, stuff like that can be normal there. That bug is really rare though, and this is a trailer. Maybe Beth did it on purpose.

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
I really got my hope up again when i read the Twitter update stating that the didn't given up on PS3
And i hope the releas all thre DLC's at the same time or a GOTY with them all, since i havn't played any of them so it'll be like one big expansion for me, if they do it that way.
I really don't think Dragonborn will hav cliff racers since they only seemed to be in Morrowind to make shure you couldn't just levitate from every single enemy in the game..

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
I think that Dragon is actually supposed to look that way. Check out its mouth and head when it first appears in the trailer. It looks similar to the Fell Beasts from LOTR. Its skin is smooth, unlike the regular Dovah. It's some peculiar breed.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Would it really ruin the DLC for you if the texture quality was as it is?CBR JGWRR wrote:I got that impression too, but just look at the texture quality...
Personally, it looks like it was covered in some sort of slime or slickness, didn't look de-textured to me at all.

Yeah...I think that texture looks that way on purpose. Or it's the lighting. I really doubt they just slapped together the trailer with no editing or proof-reading.

Well that kinda proves why I thought books when I saw it. I hope they release some dark armor/robes with this so I can impersonate the Witch King on that fell beast-ish dragon.

Haha...yeah. Zacky, read up on Hermaeus Mora. Books are the whole point.

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
If they're still using the consoles for their trailers then I'm not sure a texture issue is that surprising, as we do seem them a lot and it's one of the ways Skyrim is able to look so good overall on really aging hardware. There are a couple of other graphical glitches in the trailer, for example the book that seems to spring a load of tentacles doesn't seem to animate all that smoothly; they're all the kinds of things that people are critical of in the trailer but may not be noticeable when you do it for yourself. Anyone else remember that dodgy waterfall in the first proper Skyrim trailer?
Also how do we know that that shot is meant to be Hermaeus Mora's plane, has it been confirmed or is it just speculation? Obviously I'm excited about visiting a new oblivion plane in addition to some or all of Solstheim, as that should make it a big DLC, and well worth the price! It also looks like Solstheim should be nicely varied even if some of it will still look a lot like Skyrim, as I'm interested to get some more exploring done!
Anyway, Hermaeus Mora's plane is one I've wanted to visit ever since reading the description of it in Oblivion, and sounds like it needn't be huge anyway so it makes sense that it can be bundled with another all new area, though I wonder how the Dragonborn (player character, this part is going to get confusing with another kid on the block) is going to avoid getting sucked in by all the forbidden knowledge though, maybe a rigorous training regimen of electro-shocking every time he/she reaches for a book prior to hopping into oblivion…
Definitely does look like piles of books though, so it seems to make sense.

In the files found in the latest patch the names of some files included things like Apocrypha, Harmaeus Mora, and such. So it is pretty much confirmed.

Re: Dragonborn (DLC) Discussion
Hey this may seem off topic but I was reading the main quest for morrowind, when i remembered the quest the Corprus Cure now thinking back to what Divayth Fyr said that the potion didnt work. And now with the dragonborn trailer i saw creatures that looked like Corprus Stalkers, so with that in mind is it possible that the corpus diease still active in morrowind/solstheim ?

Not at all. It sounds like this particular priest discovered he could do it and turned rogue.DikaSmausha wrote:So all Dragon Priest can devour dragon souls. Huh

No it sounds like they can all do it, but normal Dragon Priests serve the dragons.

The trailer never said that all dragon priests could, it simply said that this particular one could. And once he discovered it he went rouge.

Possibly. Eruption of red mountain most likely stopped outright any chance of a cure. But then again, may have destroyed the Corprus too. I guess we'll see.Darco wrote:Hey this may seem off topic but I was reading the main quest for morrowind, when i remembered the quest the Corprus Cure now thinking back to what Divayth Fyr said that the potion didnt work.
