what do YOU not like about TES
Re: what do YOU not like about TES
I was making an assumption based on lat's plays and reviews. I personally have not played DAII that much.

Be glad then, that game is waste of time. I just hope DA3 is not like that.Vendetta wrote:I was making an assumption based on lat's plays and reviews. I personally have not played DAII that much.

Re: what do YOU not like about TES
Too much focus on human races with 3 games in their provinces (Daggerfall, Oblivion and Skyrim) when humans (or their provinces) are the least interesting IMO.
I'm not saying they are necessarily bad choices because these games are brilliant, I just want a little more diversity, more exotic and more wild immaginations like they did with Morrowind. And in fact if they choose any place other than Skyrim for TES V the whole series would be much more balanced in that sense.

You and i will get along swimmingly im sure. That is my main problem with the more recent TES games, since there are only 4 human races i would have thought we would have gone to one of the other race's homes again before now. But then again i suppose they are saving the best for last.Aquaflute wrote:Too much focus on human races with 3 games in their provinces (Daggerfall, Oblivion and Skyrim) when they (or their provinces) are the least interesting IMO.

Humans are more relateable and are less, strict in there laws. I think that going to Valenwood, however, would not be out of the question.Hissien wrote:You and i will get along swimmingly im sure. I want to go to Alinor, more than I want to go to High Rock again, which is a lot. But the game restraints would be terrible. The Thalmor would have to be weakened or removed first.

Re: what do YOU not like about TES
Well idk, the thalmor could go through some kind of change and become a new organization more or less. Also they may actually be better on the mainland.
Id rather go to other provinces before we go back to any. After that then they could try akavir or maybe go back to where they started.
If i had to pick the order..... Alinor -> Valenwood -> Elseweyr -> Blackmarsh these are all great options and i would be happy with any of them but..... you know how i am.

Haha I'm sure of that! Altmer is my favorite race too BTW.Hissien wrote:You and i will get along swimmingly im sure. And I agree it is kind of save the best for the last, but not intentional I'm afraid. I just assumed they picked the easier ones to go first. Then again Nords are my favorite human races in this game. Anyway with most human options exhausted they would have to move onto a beast province or mer province anyhow.

Yeah I agree, I disliked the Dunmer accents in both Skyrim and Oblivion. They stripped us of our dignity, damn it!derp53 wrote:Dunmer accents in skyrim, hate em'

The only problem with dunmer voices in morrowind were that they sounded like they were choking on gravel. I loved it but can you imagine sitting in a dark alley and hearing an ordinator say: "We're watching you... always watching."

Haha nah but seriously, a slight tweek to the voices would be fine, I just think the massive change we've seen is a bit silly. I mean, in Oblivion, the Dunmer voices were ridiculous, they sounded like a sex offenders! The Skyrim voices annoyed me a bit too, it reminded me of the London accent, which I don't really like.

Re: what do YOU not like about TES
I always thought the Dunmer voices in Skyrim sounded more Aussie to me, more than anything :p Delvin Mallory from the Thieves Guild had a more London-y accent to me :p
But I agree with setting the game in human provinces-- the one thing that struck out with Morrowind for me was the completely alien atmosphere. It really, really encouraged people to explore, because it was so weird and refreshing and fun! Then we got ye olde kingdom in Oblivion. Though I do admit, Skyrim is by far one of my favorite human provinces to date (argh, but I like Daggerfall's size ajdska).
I think a return or possible look into other provinces might be a good idea. I'm hoping Alinor for the next game, or even Valenwood. Not sure about Elseweyr or Blackmarsh, but Beth seems to have already exhausted the human provinces already. So maybe we'll wait on bated breath? TESO talks about visiting the other provinces, but IDK if I want to play an online version :p
My own qualms would be fixing up mage characters. Just like the previous posters who talked about mage-types in Dragon Age; I wish mages were able to use staffs as weapons as well (DAII featured staffs with blades at the end, so mages could use melee attacks if enemies came too close), and have better casting animations and leveling :p Shooting fireballs day in and day out is fun for the first ten levels, but when I can take out a dragon with a few hits, the magic's lost :p

Re: what do YOU not like about TES
I actually liked how they set them in Human Provinces , the other races were never that interesting to me , apart from Altmer , the rest of the elves were a bit ''meh''
i much prefer the Human provinces up till now , but if they make a game in Elsweyr , and do it well , i may change my mind

"You may now sleep in an owned bed"
Has annoyed me forever...
Also, I don't mind Elven provinces, but I enjoy humans more. I really really don't want any to be exclusively in a Beast Race province.

Re: what do YOU not like about TES
Wolves. I hate them! It's even worse in Skyrim as i can't walk a few meters without encounting them. They are just annoying. And i've lost 4000 septims to them due to them killing my horses.
The short guild questlines in Skyrim. And they are a bit poor barring two guilds.
The inability to sleep in an owned bed. Pretty sure killing everyone in the house is enough to be able to sleep in their bed.
Dialogue that repeats too often. I've had it with every guard telling me that they used to be an adventure untill they took an arrow to the knee.
One voice actor that is used for too many NPCs. I don't hate it but i don't want to hear the same voice by two different NPCs.
The Darkbrotherhood assassains in Skyrim. Stop delaying my journey for a few seconds.

Well, I couldn't imagine how buggy a one year developed game by Bethesda would be, so yeah, 4 years apart is good enough.

the fact that oblivion was such a pile of crap compared to every other scroll game yet the rampent fan boys never shut up about it. There is really no such thing as a bad elders scrolls game but if you compare TES games to each other you find them to be quite different. Could you say what you didn't like about Oblivion? Was it the graphics, the gameplay, the story? Rampant haters are just as bad as rampant fan boys when you get right down to it, just sayin'.

Hahaha, awesome! I hate Oblivion too! Mainly because I found it hard to immerse myself in the world, plus the world was too cartoony and it felt like a generic medieval-fantasy RPGComrade Sandvich wrote:the fact that oblivion was such a pile of crap compared to every other scroll game yet the rampent fan boys never shut up about it. How the bestiary decreases with every subsequent game as I have stated on multiple occasions.
