You people vote for the judge in Court? You sure would do it when you knew him / her, but when it was your opponent naming the Head? How goes?
I do think we have a good system here. Not perfect, but run by people who wish the best for the Forums.

Re: Changes in the Moderator Team
Actually, many judge positions are indeed filled with a popular vote, at least here in the US.

That was a good remark, thank you. I think you also have Sheriffs elected by popular vote? Quite different here, we may be the most czarist nation, right after Russia. I admit I'm biased concerning authority issues, now and then. We all have some flaws, don't we.

Re: Changes in the Moderator Team
I think what we should take from things like the survey isn't that we, the general Forum community, should have a vote or even a real voice in the Moderator selection process, but that there are and have been ways in which we can have a say without us having to change things so that we do vote. I think most people would agree, this isn't a scenario where voting is appropriate. The decision is ultimately up to the Mod and Admin Team.

Moderators are the watchdogs. They check that your yard is clean, and safe for you to walk. To do that they need to agree about a million things and they need to, somehow, have a common vision. Simply, get along with each other.

However, this is a thread for the legacy of Tom, Generalno1, and Cam, so let's keep on task.
