B) Love the Dwemer mystery.

Yeah, no way Bethesda will ever do that, but there is something about the dunmer that i dont like...
Oh yes, it's because they have slaves.

^^
Not all dunmer support slavery.

I try not to carry my own views on what is politically correct into a fantasy world where the social systems in place are vastly different from our own. It could be better to approach it they way you might if you were studying an ancient civilization - objectively.

Just a thought. :D

If lizards could talk, they would be killed, so the ES races are way nicer than we are.

Kill a lizard just for talking? How rude!

You know you would be freaked out, grab the nearest pole, and slaughter them. Don't lie to yourself.

I don't know. A lot of people melt over that insurance company mascot. And gecko=lizard for all my purposes.

I'm pretty sure any talking lizards in our society would be ceased by the government for scientific study and experimentation. To sum it up they would probably be torn apart.

Actually, the talking lizard would probably be taken under the wing of some streetwise shyster looking to turn a profit. Then, after missing his big shot in Hollywood, he'd run away and join the circus. It is there he would live a gypsy life of squalor and excess and die in the pits of poverty. Eventually his story would become a critcally acclaimed docu-drama.

Oh, yes, or that one. A circus freak! However I think a lizardman would be a big deal. He would surely be rich.

Probably, but everyone would do the same if they saw a blue dude with red eyes and elf ears.

I wouldn't take out anything, I'd add Sload, Igma and a couple other races as NPC's though.

Why not just take no one and add no one? Adding a new race would be lore breaking.

meh not really, if the races are mentioned in lore it would make sense to be able to play as one. So it wouldnt be lore breaking, it would be trend breaking. I dont want them to add a new race, the one's we have are perfectly fine as they are and adding more would confuse me and make me scared :(.

Yeah, there seems to be enough variation in races to suit almost everyone's tastes already. Adding even more might be a bit overwhelming/alienating for newcomers to the series.

I'm going to attack this question from a different angle. How about removing the Dunmer ... and bringing back the Chimer. Essentially, no random fourth wall breaking mumbo jumbo, but a full questline which, at it's conclusion, gave the player the means to redeem the Dunmeri peoples and thus lift Azura's curse on the Dunmer and change them back to their original selves. To be frank, I think there are many benefits to the current form of the Dunmer, particularly when you consider their living in the shadow of Red Mountain, but I feel it would be a storyline with a lot of potential. Plus it'd be awesome to come up to that final moment with Azura and then turn down the offer, demonstrating perhaps an understanding of the Daedra's true motivations and the true colour of her not-so-sinister machinations.

(^This I like.I've been having dreams about this questline for years now. :D )

Personally I don't see the point of removing one race to make room for another. The current races are not that many and adding 1-2 more will not significantly affect the development process.

Back on topic:the ideal TES game, for me,would have the Kothringi and the Maomer as playable races (sailor/pirate questline that takes you everywhere :) )

I think instead of removing a race, they should improve the ones they already have. Like further devolve them and outline their differences. Make each one unique. Playing Skyrim I thought it would be cool if each race had its own perk tree, giving them different power and abilities and multiple roads you could go down. Then Bosmer really could become the best archers, and Dunmer could have a bunch of cool destruction magic stuff and ancestral powers.

I've always been a fan of the idea that each race might have certain skills which they were more naturally inclined to, and that these skills would receive a bonus, not just as a starting bonus, but as an increase to both the starting and maximum levels of these skills (i.e. Dunmer might start with 25 Destruction and have a cap of 110). I don't know if I'd go as far as individualised perk trees, but I liked the system in Arena whereby different races had bonuses such as ones to Melee or Ranged Damage and Chance to Hit, and I wouldn't be adverse to those being brought back. The more different the different classes and races, the greater the replayability factor, in my view.
