What's after Gaurdian?

Post by Deathmist »

I noticed that weka has the highest post count, she is the top poster.

Well weka's a Gaurdian yet she only has 3 and a half coins. So...

What comes after Gaurdian? (4 coins)
What comes after that? (4.5 coins)
And what's the final rank? (5 full coins)

Just curious.

It's based on the Oblivion Fighter's guild ranks I believe.

No problem! I didn't understand it for the longest time, until Jeff(I think) pointed it out.

Daveh never said when he implimented it. It just showed up one day. Everyone was supprised. It is an admin only function, so the moderators can not check.

From what I've seen, it doubles each progression.

Guardian is at 2000, so the next would probably be 4000, then 8000... ect

Ditto.

No one's going to be interesting long enough to hit that. I can see Weka or maybe Jeff hitting Champion, but beyond..

Why would you want to remove your post count? ?_? I can only see being the top-poster as a good thing.

Why and how?!! I've never really taken any notice of post counts anyhow, I don't see them as being relevant. It's the quality of people's replies and the way they treat others that I find relevant.

But really, having that many posts?! I honestly just find it embarrassing. What a gossip I must be!! Cause I know that I really haven't helped that many people!

Maybe it’s cause in "real life" I don’t tend to talk v. much really. In which case, I guess it must be the fault of you lot!! uesp has turned me into a chatterbox!!!

Are you kidding?!! You're the most helpful person on the forums!!! Seriously!!!

Heh, me too. I'm usually pretty active on forums, but I don't have a lot to say IRL.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the moderators have the power to lower postcounts. If you can't stand being the top poster, then maybe you could ask one to lower it?

Unfortunatly, we don't. Changing post count require admin rights.
I used to play Oblivion, then I took an arrow in the knee.

Really? It says it in the FAQ, right here. I guess it doesn't matter though.

The FAQ must be in error.

Please do not abuse the board by posting unnecessarily just to increase your rank -- you will probably find the moderator or administrator will simply lower your post count.
That is done by deleting Post Flooding Replies. What is meant, is that if someone tries to increase thier Post Count, to get the next, or higher Forum Ranking, that the Moderators can (and probably will) delet those replies/comments, thus lowering the members post count. Deleting replies/comments lowers the memebers post count, as those posts no longer exist.

It would take alot of deleting to lower a post count from 3500, to 1000. I doubt any of the mods would be willing to take the time. Not to mention that it would also make alot of topics look funny with missing replies. Especially bad if those replies have good info.

That would be the hard way of dealing with the problem. :)

Actually, a mod could do it.
their are some boards I'm on where you can.
but the Admin has to set the permission in the settings for a mod to do it.
