Nice. How would the Blades fit in? Or would they?
What if there was no Imperial presence at all, completely Alinor native everything.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
But of course there will be attacks on the Empire! The goal of the Thalmor is to overtake the Empire. And in it's weakest, but growing, state, it would be a now or never chance for the Thalmor before the Empire becomes powerful again and proves to be a real challenge to them. The Thalmor would be weak too, caught off guard by the Necromancers. And with a massive war brewing, their window of opportunity is closing fast.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
Blades would only be a side guild becuase after the last few games people have had enough blades. morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim all had Blades as Major characters.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
That's true, but if they were gathering information on the Thalmor it could be pretty major, depending on what happens. But I gotta go offline so next time lets figure out guilds n factions

The Blades are an Elder Scrolls staple, like starting off as a prisoner. The Nerevarine was a member of the Blades, as was the Hero of Daggerfall and arguably the Eternal Champion of Arena.i-m-so-ghett0 wrote:Right, but you shouldn't be in the Blades. Already done that in Oblivion, again in Skyrim. What if you were a new hero like the Nerevarine, kinda neutral but ends up kicking ass all around. So there would be utter chaos, a many sided Tamrielic civil war! Exciting!

The Blades seem overused and boring. Maybe if more Akarivi elements were brought into the game?OblivionDuruza wrote:The Blades are an Elder Scrolls staple, like starting off as a prisoner. Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
I think the game should Feature the summerset Isles as an expansion pack , because i believe the Isles are a bit too small for an entire game set there , but i may be wrong
i think it should be set in a mixed map combining All of Elsweyr and Valenwood , and then have an Expansion pack that takes us to the Summerset Isles (yes i prefer to call them the summerset Isles/Isle because i dont like the name Alinor)

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
They may be 'overused', but this is simply because they are a reoccuring element of every Elder Scrolls game. Each time we've seen them in-game, they've been different in that they're simply a means for the Main Quest of the game to play out. In Morrowind we saw spies and other such intelligence operative types (sort of like the CIA), in Oblivion they took on a role that was much more focused on defending the Emperor and the Empire (more akin to the Secret Service). In Skyrim they were almost totally reinvented to focus solely and even over-zealously on the Dragon threat and the Dragonborn.stalker17 wrote:The Blades seem overused and boring. And in Daggerfall they were search and recovery.

This is where TES:VI should be most definitely im still bitter about skyrim being in skyrim and not The isles. Human lands are fun but they always seem to have less otherworldly characters in them. Plus i want to go to the crystal tower to learn magic from the original college of magic.

The Psjiics, or whatever, do not use magicka, they use something different.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
I don't know if you would say it's entirely different from conventional magic. I always saw it as an advanced form of Mysticism, the "Old Ways," with the focus being more on the philosophy of the "Elder Way."
Also, on Alinor, it is my understanding that only the Isles are now dubbed 'Alinor', while Valenwood remains Valenwood.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
But it's different from magicka, wiht similar effects. So it must use something other than Magus for power.

Could you elaborate please, I'm not sure I get what you mean. In fact I think I recall a source that linked the Old Ways to Mysticism. Just bear with me for a second.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
I've read a book, but I forgot the name, that explained that the Psj. Order's type of magic, was not related to magicka, and thus does not use it. Sort of like the Thu'um. Shouts are magic, but the Voice does not use magicka. Instead, it uses one's own vital essence, their voice, the literal one, to project power. True power, something no amount of magicka could achieve from one person.

Re: ELDER SCROLLS VI: ALINOR
Found it: the book Mysticism: The Unfathomable Voyage states that:
I'm not sure I'd call Thu'um magic though, but I see what you're getting at. I would take what you've said more as, the Psijics are able to unlock their great 'inner potential' through the meditation espoused by the Elder Way. I'd love to check out that book though if you can remember.
The Psijics of the Isle of Artaeum have a different term for Mysticism: the Old Way. The phrase becomes bogged in semantic quagmire because the Old Way also refers to the religion and customs of the Psijics, which may or may not be part of the magic of Mysticism.

F:oA but honestly, it could be wrong, or a mixture of both ideas. I'm not sure.
