Being a death count. And for it being harder to get some significant items and be leaders of guilds. All of the stuff that makes skyrim casual, out. Even though I don't play that much.

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
Some ideas I have:
- A beastmaster skill: the ability to tame and train beasts to fight at your side.
- A reliable gambit-command system for followers, so that I can tell my followers in battle exactly what to do by bringing up a menu, or set scripts for my characters to follow in battle. As they are now, followers rely exclusively on their own AI, and that's not enough. I should be able to modify their behavior.
- The fact that the player character can perform less physical movements than NPC's has driven me batty since Oblivion. For once I would like to actually watch my character read a book or sleep, or lean against a ledge if standing near one with weapons sheathed. It's purely cosmetic, I know, but it adds character.

I dont like the Pirate idea , i mean ,from fighting a godlike individual who plans on conquering the world with an all powerful machine-god by using the heart of a god, to closing oblivion gates which are causing immortal deadly demons to spill into the world , to killing dragons that breath fire and ice and are attempting to destroy the world (or something) .... to fighting pirates on boats ? kind of a step down if ask me , i mean i have nothing against the idea of fighting them , just the idea that it would the next games big problem , like oblivion gates and Dragons .

There's a history of piracy in the illiac bay.
It probably shouldn't be a main quest, but it could be a faction quest.

i agree completely that isnt high concept fantasy adventure fodder when you put it like that, but closing oblivion gates was just jumping through a firey hole, hitting monsters and stealing a rock at the top of a towerphilfredobob wrote:I dont like the Pirate idea , i mean ,from fighting a godlike individual who plans on conquering the world with an all powerful machine-god by using the heart of a god, to closing oblivion gates which are causing immortal deadly demons to spill into the world , to killing dragons that breath fire and ice and are attempting to destroy the world (or something) .... to fighting pirates on boats ? kind of a step down if ask me , i mean i have nothing against the idea of fighting them , just the idea that it would the next games big problem , like oblivion gates and Dragons .
and when you get down to brass tacks killing dova is just about waiting for them to land, running up to them and hitting them hard and fast before they take off, with the added element of dragonrend if you have it
i am sure beth could invest the common act of robbery on the high seas with an air of epic importance to the fabric of Tamreil if they wanted to..
the vessels could be dwmer flying machines, or huge gaseous balloon plants from Valenwood, roaming around like zeppelins terrorising the ground dwellers
or what about battling daedric pirates on the Sea of Screaming Souls which normally lies in the terror realms of Molag Bal, but which now occasionally bisects our world and manifests as boiling seas of blood which disrupt mundane shipping in tamreil and is preventing one particular ship which must reach its destination or something terrifying will happen to everybody

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I'd like to see unique items appearing in random loot. In Oblivion this would occasionally happen- e.g you could find 'the Staff of Banishment' or a 'Necklace of Swords' in random loot whereas in Skyrim all random loot was generic.

that would be good, i am not sure if they did this in Morrowind but it felt like there was more random variety instead of the generic loot you get more of nowTovenam wrote:I'd like to see unique items appearing in random loot. I've probably already said this before but: open-faced helm variants of all base helms, some of my favorite heavy armor sets don't let me see my character's face (being khajiit, it feels right to have open helms...like in Morrowind...)

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
yes, definitely and expand the varieties in appearance which armour can have
there are a few variations of standard armour (eg falmer leggings with no feet, and the new hardened ones with shoes, same stats as each other) this could be expanded greatly
eg: what if i kill a tiger and i make fur armour out of it and it looks like it was made from a tiger? the beasts that live in the DG caverns are strange colours, it would have been cool if you could have made unique stuff out of it.. if i make clothes out of a creature that sneaks around in forests, can my sneak skill in forests be better wearing what is effectively camouflage - if you can get magical and non magical bonuses to stuff by virtue of where you got it, there's a whole layer of depth righ there without having to invent new monsters, plots, messing with skills and so forth
or if i go to the smith in Riften whose furnace is powered with fire salts, maybe his gear could look a bit different even tho it does the same job
imo a big part of character customisation and development is the look of the hero

I don't think the pirate suggestion is bad. In my opinion the dragons of V were lackluster and generic. I'm assuming we have all seen Pirates of the Caribbean, and we are all going to have our opinions on the story and acting and Johnny Depp, but I think we can all agree the story was pretty good and shows a pirate story line can be just as epic as hell gates and demon dragons.
If you were to look back on Morrowind and Daggerfall, both games story lines were pretty isolated and deal with a specific group of peoples problem (kinda) If that makes any sense.
After my tenth time playing Oblivion I'm not really looking forward to saving Martin again and again, and keeping Dagon out of Tamriel because he really doesn't seem like a bad guy. I would like to see more black white and grey choices, where I don't always have to save the realm, I would like to do some tyrannical stuff every once and a while, or just simply become the worlds greatest thief and leave the high king and his problems behind while I snag me some swag and panties. Basically, I don't want to have to do the world saving main quest if it doesn't suit my role playing.
I thought Skyrim looked amazing, but wasn't the game I expected. If I wanted something I couldn't play but looked good I would buy a painting and have it as my conversation piece at parties. With every new game the content featured is reduced, some magic schools were reduced to three and four spells which is kinda lame. Factions have little to no reward, and the quest lines were also lame and nonsensical. I would like to see my actions being reflected on the world through my factions, and actually make choices that mattered.
For example the companions; I thought they were stupid, but they could be awesome if once you killed off the Silverhand you had the option to bring a solid foothold in Skyrim.
After a while you would see members replacing gaurds, out killing giants, and drinking all over the land. Soon The Companions would be like the mafia, with me at the helm, if I wanted them to they would be erasing evil from the land slaying vampires, or be the racketeering, extorting, and extraditing clan I always expected a group of vikings I was leading would be.
After rising in ranks, tell the companions to show the public their power and make werewolves present in Skyrim, while wandering you will see packs of werewolves stalking the plains.
There is so much more I could type, but I'll shut up now.

That would be really cool, but alas it also requires an insane amount of work. If we want to wait a decade for the next Elder Scrolls, I could see that, and it would be awesome.Mattbott wrote:yes, definitely and expand the varieties in appearance which armour can have

Re: The Official TES VI Wishlist thread
I was thinking that TES 6 story would involve the Psijic Order, Eye Of Magnus, and the Aldmeri Dominion (Thalmor).
This is might be a bit far fetched but I was thinking that the Thalmor would possibly try to take control of the Eye of Magnus in order to grasp real power and trample over Tamriel.
Based off this, I believe that the Eye of Magnus has some relation to the Elders Scrolls and there may be a direct correlation to Mankar's statement that Nirn is nothing but another realm in Oblivion.
This is might be a bit far fetched but I was thinking that the Thalmor would possibly try to take control of the Eye of Magnus in order to grasp real power and trample over Tamriel.
So we have an Eye that shoots laser beams and a staff that drinks them; two inversions of 'normal' function. Now let's consider: the staff of Magnus is a Tower, Towers create a certain character of individual reality (in most cases, thereby reinforcing the Mundus' very existence), and Magnus jumped ship at the last moment deciding the project was a bad idea - so, integrating these three things, we can see that the staff acts as a Tower by imposing the desired reality of Magnus upon the Mundus, which is to say, unreality. It absorbs magicka because it is enforcing Magnus' attitude. You can call it Destruction of the Mundus, if you want to tie Magnus to Dagon.
Based off this, I believe that the Eye of Magnus has some relation to the Elders Scrolls and there may be a direct correlation to Mankar's statement that Nirn is nothing but another realm in Oblivion.
