They start attacking randomly before you begin the quest.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

I explained why, in detail, across several posts, on that thread.

I went looking for explainations as to why it can't[/] be done. Found reasons why it shouldn't be done.

I provided several reason why it can't be done.

Most simply, because you cant give people access to data they haven't payed for.

And Bethesda sort of tells you in the game: Due to her being a vampire, temples scare her so she turns you down.

You're explaination as to why it "can't" be done said quite clearly that it CAN be done (and the result would be granting people files they didn't pay for).

That's why I said I found reasons why it shouldn't and won't be done.

The main reason for the lack of wedlock to seranna is probably because most PCs were already being married before the DLC was released and there would be no way for them (me included) to remarry. p.s did anyonn get that same weird feeling about seranna that the had for DragonAge`s Morrigan? lol

I'm still confused, though. If the patch is nothing more than a replacer for certain files, why wouldn't it work? If you want Serana to be eligible for marriage, a patch that adds her to the potential marriage faction isn't going to affect those who don't have Dawnguard. Same way that they can include files in patches for future DLC, even though the devs know that not everyone is going to buy the DLC.

the files included in patches for the DLC contain no useable information without the DLC.

and edit to make Serana marryable would have to include edits to several files, enough files to where you COULD do something with them.

I took the liberty of tagging some of your posts. Damnit, people. Just because everyone in this thread has Dawnguard doesn't mean they've advanced as far in the MQ as yourself.

I'll be honest I wasn't even aware of that bit of info. Even after clearing the questline... the subject just never came up as a possibility.

Spoiler:
I don't know then sorry- wait what quest line did you do?
Maybe the Vampire Lord one is different from the Dawnguard?
Or if all else fails just look it up on the internet.

On another note- has anyone used the other arrows from the Knight-Paladin, you know the ones that do the sunburst?
Are they actually any good?
