That is my biggest problem with the whole thing. Didn't think that had to be pointed out since it was so annoyingly obvious. The "Wings" are such a pain, especially since you don't even fit through smaller doorways. I love the DLC except for the look of the VL's. Oh well, I will continue to enjoy the WW perks and the new shiny objects all over the place. (shouts, artifacts, etc.) :D

I like how they look, the wings are a nice touch but they should be fuller and allow for some actual flight.

At the very least VL's should be able to glide down great heights and take zero or greatly reduced fall damage IMO. They practically levitate as a primary form of movement without effort.

I don't have Dawnguard, but I have just looked through the page on the wiki for the 'joining the Dawnguard' quest. I have a question:
Spoiler:
when Duran says the Hall of the Vigilants has been destroyed, is it possible to actually go to the former location of the HotV and see it in its destroyed state?

I went back but there's not much left there any more, everything is destroyed and all the vigilents are dead, suppose thats why Bethesda never expanded on them

you can go back, but the cell is basically destroyed and replaced with a ruined building. There use to be a basement... it's not there now.

Does anyone know what the base damage (read: not counting the special perk or ring) of the VL's claw attacks are?

I assume it's the same as a werewolf. Not perked of course. Edit:
anyone know what counts as a "high porifle target"?
Spoiler:
Sybille Stentor doesn't count as a target for the vampire quest. Would have been funny, disguise as a Dawnguarde to kill someone in town...
wait, logic fail realized.
