Okay, well, I might as well begin, with the topic of: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Why do we love the show? It's funny, cute, creative, and has terrific voice acting. No, we're not pedophiles, nor are we all gay. To those who insist we are one of those things, true bronies, as we call ourselves, will Love and Tolerate you, which many bronies need to learn. Go ahead, have your cruel, ignorant ways. Call us all losers who "stay home from work/school to watch ponies". A true brony will love and tolerate you, maybe even become friends. But I must say, most of those that are not bronies... have not given the show a chance.
Now, like every deviant culture, there are certain extremes that always come from such hobbies. Of course Rule 34 comes into effect in full force with ponies, and you know, that's okay. People have their own ways of expressing themselves, and if it means drawing and/or writing pony p0rn, that's fine, but don't generalize an entire group of people by an extremist you dislike. That's like accusing every American of being a xenophobic Rush Limbaugh-esque idiot. It's unfair, and not right.
The reason most non-bronies laugh at us is because of social norms - boys are supposed to be the tough ones, with little to no feelings, and the women are the ones that are more emotional, and like to have tea-parties and like to watch rom-coms. Well, these norms are changing, and we need to learn to accept it, or at least tolerate it. Men are still men. Women are still women. The definitions of what makes you the gender of which you were born into is changing, that's all.
So yeah, I'm a brony, and I'm proud of it. I'm not your stereotypical guys-guy, but that doesn't matter. I am who I am, Frosty the Pony-Lover.
