Post Your Recommended Mods!
Okay, here we go. Skyrim has been out for over seven months, and that means that there are 7+ months worth of mods out there. I've felt that Skyrim's modding section has grown a little sluggish lately, so let's bring it back by everyone recommending their absolute must-have mods.
I'll start:
1. Warzones. If there was just one mod that I could have, it would be this one. It adds giant battlegrounds all over Skyrim where dozens and dozens of soldiers duke it out over huge expanses of terrain. You can see Bandits vs. Stormcloaks, Imperials vs. Forsworn, Fire Mages vs. Ice Mages, and more! But the action really gets going when occassionally a dragon or two swoops down to fight them both! I simply cannot recommend this mod more.
2. Skyrim Monster Mod. This mod has gotten a LOT of attention lately, and it deserves it. If you've ever gotten bored fighting pack after pack of cloned wolves and sabre cats, then you should seriously get this mod. It adds over one hundred new creatures to fight... and flee from! The mod add-ons, make it even better; they add new ingredients from the monsters, as well as increased spawns.
3. Apocalypse Spell Package. This mod adds over 160 new spells, with over thirty in each spell category. Magic is finally interesting! The reason I I recommend this over Midas Magic is that this mod actually adds the spells to vendors, and thus it is better implemented into the game.
Well, those are my top three. What are yours?

Re: Post Your Recommended Mods!
1. Build your own house. Amazing. Makes you actually search for the materials to build your house, and let's you choose exactly the type of house, type of furnishing, etc. Really, top tier mod.
2. Deadly Dragons. The pleasure of being able to constantly fight dragons. And powerful ones too. Not some cloned dragons. Real diversity, I love it.
3. SkyrimHD. Seriously, the official bethesda HD pack can kiss my butt, it is no match for this HD. And I don't even use the full version
4. Most spell adding mods are awesome: Midas Magic, Phenderix magic evolved and Apocalipse spell package are the ones I know. I love them all, although Midas was better back in Oblivion... I feel like it's a little too much involving force push/pulls.
By the way, does anyone know any good lighting mods?

Top 3?
1. Pluto's Improved Skyrim Experience (PISE) - Makes the game much more challenging by raising level caps on encountered enemies, improving enemy AI (to, for example, use potions if they have them), and reducing levelled loot spawns.
2. ACE - Crafting - Major crafting skills rebalance. I like it so much I might try the modder's larger rebalance package as well.
3. Economics of Skyrim - Major merchant overhaul. I went into more detail about this awesome mod in the other recommendation thread.
The older mod recommendations thread, as a point of interest.

In the Build Your Own House mod, can you build it anywhere, or only in a specified place? Reading about it, it made it sound like you could only build off of it in one location.strobacaxi wrote:1. Anyone know if the author of the Alter Beginnings mod uploaded it to a new site? It was removed from the steam workshop

Re: Post Your Recommended Mods!
Yeah, I removed the mod myself. Users were having too much incompatibility issues. I spent more time trying to make it work for the users than working on the actual mod. But the thing was, whenever I thought I'd adjusted the problem accordingly, another problem appeared. Ultimately, I had enough and removed the mod from the Workshop. It was only a test upload, anyways. I'll keep modding, but I'm probably not going to upload anything to the public anymore.rpbraley868 wrote:Anyone know if the author of the Alter Beginnings mod uploaded it to a new site? Re: Post Your Recommended Mods!
SkyrimHD -Honestly, this is THE best texture pack for the game. It looks infinitely times better than even Bethesda's own HD texture pack.
Actor Magnet aka Dovahkiin Katamari -Adds a spell that basically turns your character into a black hole, everything alive gets pulled towards you, eventually making this huge ball of assorted NPCs and creatures.
Realistic Lighting -does what the name implies, makes the game's lighting realistic. Also changes weather around a bit, and nights are pitch black and terrifying. Bonus, actually can improve performance of the game, unlike other mods that hinder it.

Re: Post Your Recommended Mods!
At this point, I'm pretty much just going to post all of the ones I have, because they're all entirely necessary/awesome.
aMidianBorn Armors: I have all of them up to elven installed, and they look amazing. A must have to increase the detail of the vanilla armors.
Cloaks of Skyrim: Adds over 100 cloaks to the game, some unique, others added to leveled lists and used by NPCs
Deadly Spell Impacts: better looking fire/frost/shock spell impact effects
Detailed Bodies and Detailed Faces: Makes the face and body textures HD.
Enhanced Blood Textures: New blood textures and bleeding effects. Me gusta.
Footprints: Adds footprints to EVERY actor in the game. (almost)
No More Blocky Faces: Fixes the blocky textures on faces.
Realistic Lighting w/ Customization: In my opinion, best lighting mod around. I prefer this over most ENBs. No performance hit.
Realistic Smoke and Embers: Enhanced textures for smoke and embers
Ruins Clutter Improvement: Better textures for clutter and objects in ruins
Skyrim HD - 2K Textures: Get it, even if your system can't handle it just to see what you're missing.
Static Mesh Improvement Mod: The best mod for those with OCD! Replaces Bethesda's crappy 2D and 3D models with expertly crafted 3D meshes.
UFO - Ultimate Follower Overhaul: Does what the name says, overhauls the follower system. More commands, more followers allowed, etc.
Unique HD Textures: Originally centered around making all of the weapon textures use a 2K resolution, the mod has been expanded to include shields and probably armors in the near future.
W.A.T.E.R. - Water and Terrain Enhancement Redux: Improves everything to do with water in the game.
All of these mods can be found on the Nexus, and then there's my three steam mods:
Apocalypse Spell Package: Fully integrated spell package, over 100 new spells added to vendors and leveled lists.
The Dance of Death: Adds more kill moves, and kill move chance customization.
Actor Magnet AKA Dovahkiin Katamari: For those 'for teh lulz' moments.

SkyUI (like that hasn't been said already...)
Imaginator
Green Water Fix (Yeah, I had that problem...)
Skyrim Modesty Mod (There are a few of them, but for one such as me, any of them are good.)
Leather Pants Armor (Considering you're up in freezing Skyrim, you'd probably expect less skirts... for those concerned, pants means trousers in this context.)
Realistic Lighting
Unofficial Skryim Patch
Sundy's Male Presets (to me they look a lot better than the vanilla presets.)
Cloaks and Hoods
Okay, this turned into more of my mod list instead of what I recommend, but they are all pretty good mods.
