I would suspect that if Bethesda were smart they would find a way to edit prexisting perks to affect the new weapons so people dont need new levels.Mefris Elmek wrote: I didn't suggest otherwise. They will be annexed to current skill/perk trees but they will come with their own perks which need skill points which in turn need levels.

I am half-asleep and my eyes are burning.Game Informer Leak wrote:Just as in the base game, you can either be a werewolf or a vampire, but you can't be both. In either case, you earn new perks by engaging in the appropriate beastly activities. By killing foes with your powers, you can continue to learn new vampire or werewolf skills. This approach means that all players can see what these forms offer, despite the fact that gaining standard perks might be difficult (or impossible) for high level characters.
Can someone tell my retarded brain if this means that, even if we're at lvl.80, we can still gain the perks for either beast separately from the standard tree?

It's not like I'm overly affected right now; I'm lvl.43, and I've used the perks (so far) that I really care to use with 3 points to spare. I just wanted to know if I'd have to worry about overhead if I started placing them elsewhere. I might just wait til the damn DLC comes out to really touch the game, again, though.

Re: Dawnguard.
Well, the base perk of every perk tree is for every weapon in that class so there we have no problem but if we talk about the rest then we do have one.In the two-handed section all the weapons have their own "branch" which cannot be modified to cater to,for example, spears,so a new branch is needed.SajuukKhar wrote:I would suspect that if Bethesda were smart they would find a way to edit prexisting perks to affect the new weapons so people dont need new levels.
With the crossbow things are easier because most (if not all) of the perks could work for it as well but I think it wouldn't do it justice.Thats the reason I think Beth will give crossbows a branch for themselves and offer either "do and get a reward"(Angi style) or "do and get a reward"(through levelling up) as a way to get the points for them.

Read the link. I provided it above, but I'll provide it here, too.
It says that crossbows will share the Archery skill tree.

I am glad they are adding in new dragon types.
Dragons need a complete overhaul to make them deadlier.

You and me both.Mefris Elmek wrote:Hm thats very interestingalso according to people on the Bethesda forums some water combat files were found alsoI wouldn't mind a link to the discussion.
I'm 110% sure those are arrows.Anyway, they wouldn't spend image space on something so irrelevant as crossbows.maybe those are not arrows on his back in the new pic. maybe they are bolts. some people realy want crossbows in the game.
If it really is something vampire/falmer related it's the perfect time to bring back crossbows and considering we already know the files are there they wouldn't have to put bolts in the picture.
A few things I think would also be included in the DLC are:
Werewolf skill tree.
Possibly Vampire skill tree.
Crossbow/Spear skill trees or the altering of Archery and Two Handed to accommodate both new weapon types.
A level cap raise to 91 or 101.Thats very plausible because they already have shouts ingame they could add to our repertoire.I EAT pain wrote:I don't know, BUT, I think there will be more shouts.

The PS3 power has been shown countless times.Till this day the only games that are a bug fest and that work poorly on this platform are Beth games.but the terrible design of the Ps3's architecture cant really be fixed by Bethesda.

Tell that to the number of video game devs who have complained about working on it.Mefris Elmek wrote:The PS3 power has been shown countless times.Till this day the only games that are a bug fest and that work poorly on this platform are Beth games.
The Ps3 has power yes, but it is so mired in terribly architecture most games never use it fully.
The Ps3 is so poorly designed even Gabe Newell commented on how bad it is.

It has a bad set of RAMs and the code itself is very hard to programme for but thats also the thing that stoped (limited) piracy (which is a plague on the Xbox and PC)Tell that to the number of video game devs who have complained about working on it.

Xbox piracy really isn't that bad, and PC piracy is mostly caused by the fact they put anti-piracy devices in their games.Mefris Elmek wrote:It has a bad set of RAMs and the code itself is very hard to programme for but thats also the thing that stoped (limited) piracy (which is a plague on the Xbox and PC)
Ironic, they very devices they use to try to stop piracy are what causes most piracy....... and despite being told that by the Pc community game companies still dont get it.
Yeah sony pulled its head out of its ass and is letting Valve relase DLC for free, doesnt mean Gabe doesnt still think it is terribly designed.Mefris Elmek wrote:And we all know what happened afterwards![]()

Microsoft Performs Mass Xbox Console Banning Because Of PiracyXbox piracy really isn't that bad, and PC piracy is mostly caused by the fact they put anti-piracy devices in their games.
The Xbox holds the 2nd place when it comes to piracy while the PS3 is on the last place with a piracy level smaller then the Wii even.

Valve is a company based on principle. They don't bend down for anyone, not even Sony.Yeah sony pulled its head out of its ass and is letting Valve relase DLC for free, doesnt mean Gabe doesnt still think it is terribly designed.
We have a tendency for going off topic so we might as well stop here.We have quite a few things to talk about Dawnguard as it is.
The Dragonborn for example.I consider him to be Talos now but with all this vampirism going around things get strange. What will he become? The vampiric God of (man)kind?

Well The Dovahkiin is only one third of the divine trinity that makes up Talos, i wouldn't be surprised if the human parts of the other two purge the vampiric part, or if during ascension the curse of the daedra is burned away in glorious CHIM.Mefris Elmek wrote:The Dragonborn for example.I consider him to be Talos now but with all this vampirism going around things get strange. What will he become? The vampiric God of (man)kind?

That was my thought as well.CHIM resolves every loose end from curses to the daedric ownership of the soul.burned away in glorious CHIM.
I wonder if Beth will speculate this to it's full extent and not leave it out because it's more poetic and fulfilling then fadeing into "nothingness".
Edit:I wonder if you can remain a "normal" vampire and join the Dawnguard as well.A "Blade" character would be very fun to play.

But if the vampire's side of the conflict gets their own skill tree, don't you think the Dawnguard will get something similar? As of now, becoming a Vampire Lord seems to come with a ton of new features and perks, while becoming a vampire hunter gives you a crossbow and some shiny armor at best.

Not everyone wants to be a vampire. The whole point of joining the Dawnguard is that you get to fight these new and improved vampires instead of being one. I hope it'll be a challenge.Vardark wrote:But if the vampire's side of the conflict gets their own skill tree, don't you think the Dawnguard will get something similar?
