our answers have been relevant and useful imo and also have all been made in good faith even tho the original post sounds a bit like one of those "i'm brilliant at this game cos it's so crap" sort of posts which on other fan based forums would get shot down within a page and the troll roasted over coals
we are more civilised and patient here, i hope the OP realises this
have you ever played Demon Souls Jaime? Your issue could just be a matter of taste
I think this thread might have run its course
Don't talk like that. You think I'm paying off on Elder Scrolls? Do you have any idea how many hours I spent playing Oblivion? It is well over a several hundred, I'd dare say. I like the game and I take my time. But I really got [&@%!] here because it seems just too easy.
Like I said, if you read the OP, the game is not so easy because I'm too good. I'm NOT doing everything right. Like I said, I don't enchant my weapons, don't spike them with poisons, don't use decent armor (using Ancient Nord), don't need to buy or make potions, didn't start with the right race for my playstyle (heavy armor and one handed for a nord is not right - they are made for light armor and two handed). And with that you'd think the game would be hard. But i just run around and whack everyone a couple times with my sword and they're dead. I realized the only reason I even need restoration is to help me level up, because I only use it AFTER the fight!
I dunno. If you guys think this is not a serious problem in the game, then that's up to you. The obvious reason this happens is because mages and thieves are less powerful than warriors, so the difficulty is designed to be more encompassing for all play styles. But this does not excuse it. It really is a lack of input on the creators behalf.
Other people here have suggested intentionally "gimping" myself. Other people are talking about mods that reduce the effectivness of smithing and thus your weapons and armor - people would not be saying this if they did not agree with me in one way or another.
