That could be interesting, though generally The Elder Scrolls has been focused on the growing power a single person (the player) rather than other characters so I'm not sure how that'd work.

I know it makes me sound like a stereotypical 'hardcore gamer' but a return to Morrowind (the style, not the setting) would solve most of my complaints. To elaborate: I agree.

Being able to enter cities with a horse: not bad, I can understand that. Wanting less loading screens: understandable. Wanting NO loading screens and NO cells in a game series known for having some of the most vast landscapes in all of gaming history: probably asking too much with current technology.

Yeah, a lot of what happened in Skyrim felt kinda narrowed down the easiest option. The point of a vast epic world is that things aren't going to be really obvious. I want to have to wander around and figure things out! I don't want to just get given the most powerful guild position because they ran out of development time and had to make the guilds short!

Morrowind - 2002, Oblivion - 2006, Skyrim - 2011.
I think we'll be ok

I don't see why Bethesda won't give us anymore weapons, I mean, if they spend time making items that you can't use at all (perhaps only for decorating your house) they might as well make more different kind of weapons like polearms, throwing knives (and stars, bring 'em back) and axes... spears etc etc...
I totally agree, it boils down to my biggest complaint of Skyrim (and gaming in general) that things have been too focused around simplification in order to bring in a larger crowd of more casual gamers. The reason they removed most weapons is to narrow down the selection to a few categories to make the skill/leveling system more straightforward... though on hindsight since weapon types are 1/2-handed and ranged I don't see why they didn't bring the old weapon types back...

Well, honestly while I liked Oblivion and Skyrim... I've been back to Morrowind since then and this isn't a game like those two were. This is a WORLD, I'm genuinely interested in what's going on and I don't mind the fact that fast-travel isn't streamlined. I care about what happens and I'm taking my sweet time learning about how things work and what I should and shouldn't do. Not claiming it was perfect, by any means, but while Skyrim had a lot of potential for the 'human'-touch, a lot of it was ruined by ultimately shallow protocols(maybe I'm using that word too loosely, but basically the guilds aren't that interesting and they're short, and people have a tendency to repeat themselves all the damn time, which ruins a realistic feeling they could have)... for games trying to create a vast epic
real world, there is a lot that has to be done.
