Moryenarn tried to dodge the attack, moving his sword to the right at the same time.

Re: The Battle for the East: A New War for Morrowind
Seras rode alongside the front of the party, scanning the hills and the river bank for signs of possible ambush. "A wise decision, Lord Ralvas. The people in Almalexia are no doubt already suffering. We cannot delay. I only hope we reach them in time to do some good. As for misery and devastation, I've seen more than my share in my life, but it's not in my hands to avoid it. I serve Redoran and I serve the Temple - and by extension that means I serve all the good people of the Morrowind."
He turned to face Drathen. "I'm sure your abilities will come in handy during the battle ahead. Ambush tactics are something the Argonians often employ themselves, but they're just as susceptible to surprise attacks as any other unwary foe. I personally believe your skill will be of great use, and I'm sure Ralvas values your abilities as well." He lowered his voice so that only Ralvas and Drathen could hear his next words. "Between the few of us here, based on what I've heard, this isn't a conflict we're likely to win is it? The battle for Almalexia that is. We're really only delaying the inevitable without reinforcements that none of our forces can afford to spare. Will there not be any more reinforcements, Lord Ralvas?"

Irvam, who had been chewing on scrib jerky by the warmth of the fire, watched this duel intently, his Wakizashi concealed within his robes, his longsword lying flat across his crossed legs as he chewed slowly.

Ralvas regarded Seras for a prolonged moment, considering what to respond with. He looked the Dunmer squarely in the eyes and replied in turn, his face a picture of gravity, "I fear that the city shall soon fall. Lord Mastrius holds the city well, but our position is untenable. Now, the greatest outcome we can hope for his to stem the flow of the blood of our brethren, to put a halt to this invasion."

At the campsite, Elyna cursed as she shivered in the cold. Elyna had always had trouble focusing heat, cold or charge enough to cast destruction spells, but in this case, her abilities sufficed. She concentrated, and the air in her small tent grew noticeably warmer.

Drathen got back up, looking past Seras into the night, he whispered calmly, "Although the battle may look bleak now, nobody knows who's favour it will be in next week", he took a deep breath, "We may experience something short of a miracle, the Telvanni still haven't joined the war, they may prove vital in tipping the scales if they were too".

Seras simply nodded, and stared off into the distance, planning ahead and mentally preparing himself.

the Altmer blocked well for one who claimed not to use swords. Jaster smiled to himself, he was glad to have a capable opponent. He made a second attack this time to his left. The swing was slow but powerful. If the Altmer didn't block it his legs would be swept from under him and he would go tumbling to the ground.

Seeing the swing, Moryenarn hopped, attempting to slash under him at the same time.

The stroke caught Jaster completely offguard. To avoid it he was forced to dodge backwards rapidly, losing his footing and tumbling to the ground. His sword went flying to the right and clattered onto the ground next to Tralas. Jaster raised his hands in a gesture of submission.
"I yield, I yield!" He shouted before the Altmer had time to point a sword in his face. He got to his feet and brushed himself off. "Good fight sir! You are a good swordsman." Jaster said, offering Moryenarn his hand.

See-Ghosts came near to Elyna's tent, while pulling out a cloack from his backpack, where he have his potions " you seems to freeze out there! Here take this. I don't think that this little spell will be enough for you. We must be well rested in order to be ready for the battle." Then he walked away, preparing for the rest.

Elyna took the cloak from Skyr and nodded her head in thanks. Despite the hard uneven ground under her tent, it wasn't long before she fell asleep.

Re: The Battle for the East: A New War for Morrowind
Seras spent half the night sitting cross legged on the ground meditating with his eyes closed. He was focusing the magicka in his body to slightly raise his body temperature. He was eventually lulled into sleep, and lay down on the ground, wrapping his sleeping blanket around him.
He was immediately pulled into a horrific vision from Azura. A burning city. Screaming. Multiple foes pouring in from secret entrances. Dunmer warriors falling under volleys of arrows and spells, and desperately trying to marshal women and children to safety. Seras saw a vision of himself lying in a puddle of blood, an Argonian blade thrust through his chest as Lord Ralvas fended off several foes nearby. Seras' eyes shot open and he was covered in a cold sweat. He sat bolt upright and quickly got to his feet. "I...I shan't be sleeping any more tonight."
He walked off near the edge of the camp and stared at the moons, shivering.

Moryenarn dropped his sword, and lent out his hand reluctantly, not being one to show mercy. His face was beginning to show some arrogance, although it was too subtle to see.

Vin was silent the entire time at the camp, only listening, a bit too nervous to speak.
Upon huddling down on the ground below he couldn't find sleep, as hard as he tried.

Drathen had been awake the entire night, he noticed Seras get up from his sleep. Drathen walked over to him, "Bad dreams, my friend?".

Seras simply nodded. "Visions...I'm tormented by visions. Have been for years now. Their meaning has long been obscure to me, but they're beginning to make more sense. Unfortunately one of the visions appears to be of my own demise... but I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, eh?"
He considered Drathen. "And what of you? It is very late."

"Once it appeared everyone had went to sleep, I spent some time uttering a prayer to Azura, for the safety of those that we have been sent to relieve", Denemus sighed, "After that I just couldn't get to sleep, I think too much".

Korzeth returned from preparing himself for the assault,
"Everything is ready Master." He said, bowing to Duruza, "The men are ready to move out on your word."

Re: The Battle for the East: A New War for Morrowind
"Ready the men," Duruza declared to his officers, "Now is the time for battle to be joined."
Duruza's men marched in silence through the pitch black of the night, guided by a number of scouts and the aid of detection magics. They came upon a knoll overlooking the encampment, and Duruza took a moment to gather himself, allowing his men to move around the flank of the encampment to take up their positions.
The encampment itself was a small wooden fortification, with spiked barricades on all sides and low walls surrounding a large barracks and a litter of small buildings. There were about half a dozen of guards on duty, sitting glumly around a small fire, and Duruza estimated that the barracks held several score more.
"For Morrowind," Duruza exclaimed, drawing his blades and leading the charge, as his archers and battlemages rained down arrows and fire and death upon the Argonians below and his warriors pushed forward with all the fury of the Dunmeri people.

As dawn broke over Ralvas' camp Ralvas himself had already been awake for some time. He had left his men while the sun was still at rest and scoured the surrounding region for further signs of Argonian activity, finding nothing of note. Now he returned to rouse his men, and to push them further, for the town of Othrenis.

Re: The Battle for the East: A New War for Morrowind
Belvyn had managed to un-work some of the wooden defences on the other side of the camp to where Duruza was attacking, "Kraveth, you stay out here with the archers on the ridges, wait for my whistle, Vilof you come with me", he indicated for Vilof to come near, "Vilof you take yourself and your men with me".
He held open the gap in the wood while Vilof and his men scrambled through, after them Belvyn dived through the gap before the two pieces of wood slammed back together. As the majority of the fighting was going on at the front of the encampment, it would've been easy to make it to their objective.
Belvyn, Vilof and the Fighters' Guild men set up a perimeter around a large tent, with other small tents nearby, Belvyn could see that not every argonian was at the front, some were still on guard duty on the tents, obviously to protect from the infiltration Belvyn had so easily composed.
