What the pfargtl? You don't get a room for that quest, you get a robe.Angelmaker wrote:Where is the room you get given after lighting one of the fires in that ceremony? I presumed it was in the palace and seeing as it was the Dementia fire I lit I thought that my room would be in there but when I go up to the bed it has a red symbol as though I'm trespassing and so does the bed in Mania. Just want to know so that I put equipment in a storage place in somewhere I own that wont respawn
The Shivering Isles....What do you think? (Bit of a spoiler)

Player: Why? Will I turn into a zombie then?
Romero: Nope. But it hurts like a $%#@, I can tell you!

With the Duke/Duchess of Dementia, you have to go through the Private Gardens to reach your quarters. Personally, I don't like it, though, what with the two dead Royal Seducer guards decorating the floor. Next time I'll ask Anya to clear them out beforehand, but I suspect the girl is the one who tips Miss Congeniality about your plans, allowing her to escape through Xirethard in the first place. Will have to solve that little bit of treachery soon enough.

I usually just sneak by them with a combination of a late hour/75+ Sneak/40% or greater Chameleon during the quest to become Duke/Duchess. That way, after the mission is over, they're still standing guard and ready to defend me!

75 bucks? Why didn't you just get the GOTY edition?crazykirk35 wrote: Over all, I cant complain. For a console gamer, this is the most amazing bargain of a game, bar none. With every expansion thats out there for the 360, Ive spent maybe 75$ total on the game and gotten nearly 500 hours of playing time. Thats insane, and I really shouldnt wine about a portion of the game thats truely optional. Maybe it will get better. I really look forward to reading what other people think.

Enjoyed, but ...
I've already completed the Shivering Isles expansion once, and I'm working on it again at the moment with a slow-leveling character. I'm enjoying it, but I do have some problems with the expansion.
It's very creative and well thought out, and my problems with the game are not really technical but, I suppose, ethical. I found the torture quest to be particularly distasteful and a few others to be nearly as bad (like killing off that party of adventurers near the beginning of the game). I've never been a big fan of playing 'evil' in computer games; I want the chance to be the hero. Games that don't offer that option don't really interest me. I would have appreciated there being some different options for some of the Shivering Isles quests. Some of the main-game daedric quests were also ones I found distasteful, but you don't have to do any of those if you don't want to but still want to advance the main storyline.
All in all, though, it is a wonderfully imaginative expansion and I can't wait to see what else Bethesda has in the future. I just hope that they continue to offer options in what is otherwise a wide-open sandbox game.

Obviously there is for him/her. However...LunarSweets wrote:And there is a problem with being Dark and Homicidal..?
Trogdor speaks the truth here, the Shivering Isle is the realm of the Prince of Madness, it wouldn't exactly fit to have a sane way of doing things there.TrogdorCronus27 wrote:The whole point of the SI, IMO, is to embody insanity.

Actually, it's less to do with madness and more with the fact that the Shivering Isles deals with Daedra. Daedra are the embodiment of extremes— whatever flexibility they may exhibit is the sort you may find in the blast of a storm. We, the mortals, simply have no say in where the wind blows.
The ethical dilemnas and discomfort one might experience in playing out the SI quests must indeed feel like what anyone may feel when they first traffic with Daedra.

From what i understand though you don't have to be bad, it's your choice. When you have the choice whether to kill the exploring people (forgot the name of the quest) you can just make them go mad instead.....which could be......nicer. Then there are the test subjects which you can set free if you like. The game is set in a world which is kind of related to medievil times (minus the magic and monsters) where that sort of thing went on so it shouldn't be too surprising.
I wish there were more side quests though, I probably haven't done them all just yet but I'm pretty sure I have done most
