You just have to be willing to spend the time it takes to get a good rig built.

I'm thinking about a new power supply and putting two AMD 6950's in Crossfire.

I do hope you are planning on water-cooling those GPU's.

What are the advantages for water-cooling? Besides the obvious I mean? Right now I have some big honking fans but I am running two Radeon 6970's. The gut who helped me put my rig together said that my fans would be enough.

Substantial increase in posterity and performance. There's a bit of an art to water-cooling, but more than worth the trouble.

I found this extremely helpful. Plus it would be a good idea to join those forums, they can help you out with just about anything computer tech-wise.

Off the top of my head...

CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 965 3.4GHz
GPU: GTX560 ti
MoBo: Asus M5A87 I think.
RAM: 8Gb DDR3
HDD: 1TB Western Digital 64Mb Cache something or other.
CASE: Coolermaster HAF 912 Plus
Is this meant to be witty, informative or deep? I doubt I can manage all three.

I am actually curious, if you care to tell. Probably depends on if you bought it to order, or built it yourself.... but what did that cost you. I was looking for a new PC last year, and due to travel, have to go with a laptop, so was sort of limited there. I did check out a monster desktop, a bit more than that, but it would have cost $25K. This would have been with 2 CPU, 4 GPU, and 4 HDD, 2 monitors, ect...

Just upgraded my laptop (not my gaming rig) to a T9600 from T6400. Some of the best $80 I ever spent! :D

Just replaced my Intel Core 2 Duo (2 year old laptop) T6400 (2.0Ghz, 2MB cache, 800mHz bus speed) with an Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 (2.8Ghz, 6MB cache, 1066mHz bus speed).

EDIT: Whoa - it's 2012! Make that an almost 3 year old laptop. By the way, I'm talking about the processor/CPU here

Fujitsu Lifebook NH570/GFX
processor: Intel Pentium P6100 2.00GHZ 3MB
Graphics: Nvidia GT330M (1gb/DDR3)
Ram: 4GB DDR3
Hard Disk: HDD SATA 500GB
Display: HD 1680x945 (18'4'')
Software: WIN7 Home Premium 64bit

Not a gaming laptop, but it works. Can play Skyrim on medium (+high details) with no problems.
I love this laptop. It's fast, the screen is amazing and does what I need it to do.
I can't afford anything fancier.

Put an upgraded heatsink fan inside the laptop last night :D I wasn't able to find any documentation of anyone else doing the swap but found a fan with the same form factor and number of pins with a higher output and it works! Idle temperatures are 8* C cooler now

"One man's death is another man's livelihood", so I decided to put a part of my father's heritage in a new PC.

Fractal Design Arc Midi ATX case
MSI 990FXA-GD80 motherboard
AMD FX-6100, AM3+, 3,3GHz, 6-core processor
Noctua processor cooler NH-D14
OCZ 120GB Agility 3 Series SSD
Seagate 1TB Barracuda 7200.12, SATA III HDD
Kingston Hyper X Genesis 2x4GB, DDR3 1600MHz, CL9 memories
ASUS ENGTX560 Ti DCII TOP video card
Nexus 1000W RX-1K 80Plus Bronze PSU

To be honest, I don't need this. I'm not playing anything right now, but I'm looking forward to get the spark to play Oblivion again, it surely will be amazing. :D maybe I even get a kick for Skyrim?

Your rig can certainly do whatever it wants with Skyrim :Twisted Evil:
