Fire. I carry a one-handed blade in my right hand, and once an enemy is on fire, my sword can inflict more damage. Best of both worlds!

I specialized in Shock on my first character for no other reason than being able to shoot lightning from my hands more effectively. When I eventually got the Master-level Shock spell, I knew I had made the right choice. You'll know what I mean when you get it.

Re: Favorite Element of Destruction
My guy and his armor rating of almost 800* finds that spell-throwers can eat him alive if he's not watching out, so of course I love lightning.
How fitting that a guy who's nearly invulnerable to physical damage, can be shredded in seconds by a few fireballs, huh?
* now over 1100, thanks to me getting the final two heavy armor perks.

If they weren't nords, but instead dunmer or redguards, nobody would call them "racist".

Shock. Very few enemies are resistant to shock.

Re: Favorite Element of Destruction
If it wasn't for the fact that half of Skyrim is resistant to frost, I'd be using that nonstop, I love the way a room/place looks after I've fought someone for more than two seconds. Spikes shooting through the ground and everything is covered in ice. Shock is a very close second.
Sadly, fire gets the best of everything in terms of damage and magicka consumption

lightning because it look bad-ass and your targets fly or detonate when they die
and it travel fast. easy to take out targets at range.

Shock is POWAAA!! UNLIMITED POWAAA!!
Anyway sucking opposing mage's magicka is good for your survival. Even though they are zealous and extremely well timed when using their ward to block your spells. >_<

Shock. Without question. I prefer air/lightning elemental damage for my casters when such an option is available. Purple death. Gorgeous. Suits me.
I'm a big fan of storms. I also find it to be...more elegant than fire, maybe?

Frost, though almost useless has always been my favorite element in any game thats has elements in em, except shock and wind, but idk why shock is very uninteresting in TES for me.

Re: Favorite Element of Destruction
I vote Fire.I've only used shock spells to hunt deers since they have a faster projectile speed, and to kill some mages before i got the atronach birthsign.Icy spike looks cool, but i only use spike to kill some fire resistant dragons. Most creatures are weak to fire, fire balls are just awesome and fire generally does more dmg.
Buying an iron dagger? 20 gold.Buying a daedra heart from the alchemy shop? 500 gold.Paying the guards so that you will not go to jail after you've murdered someone? 1000 gold.Spamming fire explosions and watching your enemies lit up like candles? Priceless.

At the entrance a Fish Speaker stooped and whispered to another: <<God is upset?>>
Her companion replied: <<The sins of the world is likely to disturb even a god.>>
Leto listened them and wept silently.

Burn baby! BURN! -Jim Carey as The Grinch
Anyways, I like fire in Skyrim because your opponents actually catch on fire! I thought it was a good addition and I sometimes like RPing as a pyro-freak Argonion cleverly named, Hides-in-Water.

Re: Favorite Element of Destruction
Definitely Fire for me, for several reasons. Firstly, for the pure damage per magicka out put, who needs to reduce a foe's Magicka or Stamina when you can kill them? Shock and Frost are better in some circumstances, but as a cover-all, Fire is the way to go. Secondly, for Roleplaying. I'm a Dunmer, and I feel a sort of connection to Fire as an element, it's part of the Molag in every Dunmer's blood. Finally, because Fire is ubiquitous, it's the destructive element, it's right for the job, and always will be.
Now if only Bethesda had given fire a decent perk instead of the whole fleeing thing.

Fire. I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Do you get to the cloud district very often? Oh, what am I saying, of course you don't.
