I mean, this is Skyrim! The white frozen north! Can anybody tell me where they last saw a werewolf in the Elder Scrolls? :)

Unless they're trying it and they aren't sure whether it'll be able to work or not.

But I hold out hope

Exactly my opinion, I'm still optimistic. It's obvious they want to make us beg for it, then a month before it's released, everybody on the forums will unleash a huge massive orgy lol. But don't forget about werebears!

Well I commented on a YouTube vid bout werewolves in skyrim (btw vamps I believe are confirmed I think their testing out different clans) and a guy replied to me saying that hes been in one of these gaming corps and he said with the new engine they are having tons of trouble with the transformation and we shouldn't expect it in the game but your absolutely right. Why pull a stunt like that saying "oh we gonna make them wait for something that won't happen".
But it's not a stunt it's cuz they don't know what to do God Howard even admit it.

It's just like the skyrim for Mac deal , lots of us want it but it's very hard to do

If they are having a hard time getting them in the base game in time maybe they will be added in DLC.
So we have come to solve every squabble in the village personally?

Thank Azura, because ALL the time there's anything about werebeasts, people always refer to them as werewolves (probably because they don't know there are werebears in TES). Werewolves (while still cool) are overrated, you see them and vampires in tv-series, movies, everywhere. Werebears on the other hand - I can't recall a single movie or tv-series or video game with werebears. It'd be unique to TES and totally awesome. And including lycanthropy might attract werewolf-fans to TES so it's very good PR. Including werebears as well would make Skyrim even less easier to forget. What if Skyrim starts a trend? Next years Twilight movies and whatever they're called will have werebears in them, all thanks to almighty TES!

I'm honestly a bit worried that the vampires that have been confirmed aren't the "Volkihar" style vampires that the lore suggests. None of these game journalists said anything that would suggest that these vampires were unique to Skyrim and were substantially different than the vampires of Cyrodiil. They described encountering "vampire enemies in a cave". The Volkihar don't live in caves, and they certainly would look different enough to warrant a reaction from the player. Like, "Wow, those vampires are different!" or "To all Oblivion players out there, if you haven't seen the vampires of Skyrim, you ain't seen nothin' yet." The information coming from these journalists suggests that it was more along the lines of "Yeah, I fought some generic cave-vamps, bfd." In other words, no news there. If Bethesda includes vampires in the game, but doesn't tailor them to fit the lore of previous Elder Scrolls games, then I will be sorely disappointed in their oversight. If you are going to have the game take place in Skyrim, shouldn't Vokihar vampires be a must? I suppose we shall see.
Remember that rumor back before Skyrim was officially announced that said Bethesda was going to contract Armor Games to develop TES: V? *shudder*

Many of the Journalists know absolutely nothing about lore. If they see a Volkihar, all they see is just a Vampire. Let's not lose hope!

I want werewolves! I really do! I don't care that much about vampires as I do about werewolves.
Twice and twice shall he be marked, twice to live and twice to die.
Once the heron, to set his path. Twice the heron, to name him true.
Once the Dragon, for remembrance lost. Twice the Dragon, for the price he must pay.

Exactly what I thought. Besides, why would normal vampires exklude Volkihar? There are normal vampires in Skyrim too.

Well we heard (in the recent NerdTrek Q & A) that
There is involvement with “The Prince” and challenges along the way that should satisfy the Daedric fans.
this was in response to a question about whether Daedric Shrines would feature.
What if the 'Prince refered to is Hircine?
Hircine is the Daedric prince whose sphere is the Hunt, the Sport of Daedra, the Great Game, the Chase, and is known as the Huntsman and the Father of Manbeasts.[1] Hircine created the various therianthropic diseases which transform mortals into beasts, and is therefore the guardian of were-creatures
There might be one Daedric quest line that has more detail and focuses on Hircine and were creatures which would explain the fact they don't want to say anything about it yet. Maybe something to do with this
Hircine's typical lackeys on the mortal realm Nirn are werewolves, which he directly talks to, gives tasks, and rewards with additional powers. Hircine hosts a great hunt every era, pitting various prey of his choosing against one another. The exact nature of each hunt varies from era to era.

This would be pretty amazing! Imagine being involved in this,
Early in the Fourth Era, visitors to Hircine's plane of Oblivion, the Hunting Grounds, described it as a realm of thick forest and open plains where they were hunted by a werebear, who looked like an extremely large man similar to a pale Nord with sinewy arms, covered in blue tattoos and leading huge bears; then a herd of wild, unknown cattle. If the horn of Hircine is heard there, it announces Hircine himself and his pack of werewolves.

I was in The Elder scrolls 3: Bloodmoon. However I would love to see more Hircine.

The Bloodmoon was epic. I'd love to have another round, but without the Skaal I don't think it would be the same. Although, the Hunt needn't be on the mortal plane - Hircine was having a hunt in the Chimera of Desolation during the Imperial Simulacrum, and in The Infernal City we see that he hunts down any intruders in his realm. We could just as easily slip into Oblivion in Skyrim and see more of Hircine without having to go through the lake of fire/dead horkers/red moon stuff again.

I had the most vivid dream of skyrim ever and it happened last night when my dog ran away and there was a full moon no lie. But in my dream I remember looking up and theyre were dragon coverin the sky's and it was plain awesome.., though I got real sad when my "in dream" self realized that it was September not November.. I like cry every time I wake up from a fun dream like this. Btw werewolves r alwas involved in these dreams and it's scary an always dark hahaha let me know and anyone's as insane as me :P

I don't think they will have werewolves, I wish they did but I think its just not there.

Few reassons why
#1 this is a huge deal for a lot of pepole speaking form a "selling games" point of veiw they should have said it as this alone could jsutifluy mny pepole buying the game almost at any price. same thign with the dark brother hood wich they did anounce
#2 vampires have been comfmied, but not one person has metioend anythign about weres, which i find odd
#3 the werewolfes would need the dedrea pricne to be involved to work and i highly doudt they will reuse soemthing like that
#4 it was not in oblvion becuse of some very good reaons i just belive they same reassons still aplly

This is quote from the new UK Xbox mag (I haven't seen it yet just quoting from another forum)
"..and in a promising twist Skyrim is home to werewolves as well as vampires - we're full expecting the lycanthropy disease to make its long awaited return to the series."
Which either confirms they are in or that they hope they are in!
