My favourite City is Anvil, I like the architecture and the atmosphere, plus Benirus Manor is my favourite House (even more than Rosethorn).

Second would have to be Cheydinhal. Firstly for the Dunmer, secondly for the lush environment and finally for the beautiful looking Houses (player House is potentially better value than Rosethorn IMHO). I also like the city because you may join the Knights of the Thorn, adding another reason to visit (although I do prefer the Knights of the White Stallion as a noble, chivalrous order).

Also, you might like to look at this thread.

For me, It has to be Anvil, for practical reasons. Benirus Manor has a HUGE number of containers in the basement, enough for every type of loot (I call it my "loot warehouse"), and Varel Morvayn's Smithy is just down the road. He's only an Apprentice of Mercantile, yet has 1200 Gold same as an Expert, so he's easy to Haggle with to get good prices for loot. Only snag is that he only buys armour, weapons and miscellanous stuff. My second favourite is Skingrad. I use Rosethorn Hall basement as my Alchemy lab, and Gunder is just around the corner. He's an Apprentice of Mercantile with 800 Gold, but he'll buy ANYTHING.

I have to say Imperial City. It could be just the mods, but I love the buildings, I love the fact that it's filled with people, I love the fact that the most powerful mages are there, I love the shops... Besides, it's the only town I can really call a town... All the others are just small villages in my opinion... I'd really like to see Skyrim have towns big...

Bruma, I love the snow and the cozy cabin they give you. When i think Bruma, i think Winterfell... *bends knee and lowers head* may Lord Eddard rest in peace. A close second would be Cheydinhal. I wish we could see Kavatch rebuilt... I bet it wouldve been beautiful.

I think my biggest complaint about Skingrad is that the castle is so difficult to get to. My favorite city is anvil. I like it being on the coast. I also bought my first house there and spent much of my early playing time. I joined the mages guild there first, the fighters guild and was seduced by the sirens. I think the quests are of a better quality there.

Favorite: Sutch (not to many people there though...) but seriously I'd say Anvil is my favorite.
Least Favorite: Bravil, the counts a jerk, and it's just too run down for me.

Favourites: Toss of the coin between Anvil and Skingrad. My favourite two houses, and handy Merchants for selling loot.

Least Favourites: Bravil and Leyawiin. Worst framerates on my 32-bit dinosaur of a PC, due to the number and complexity of objects.

I think it's interesting to note that both Bravil and Leyawiin's Counts dislike Ocato and the Elder Council, and aren't exactly the nicest fellows around. In contrast, the Countess of Anvil is rather nice, as is the Count of Cheydinhal and even the Count of Skingrad.

Maybe it's just me, but perhaps Bethesda is trying to position us as the audience, giving us a subliminal bias towards certain cities? :?:

Also, a poll might be nice for this thread?

Considering Bravil's Count is a Skooma addict and Leywaiin heralds racism and genocide; I think this is the lack of subtly Bethseda had when making Oblivion.

Leyawiin's case was done a bit more as a rumor until you finally found it. Bravil it was basically the gossip of the town.

So two Imperial culture cities (one a literal shanty town), against a non-imperial? Yeah, saw it coming a mile away.

Honestly if anything it almost makes the sense of whom is loyal to whom. Colovia is more independent but also has their respect for the Empire.

While Nibey is full-on Imperial, to a point where they see everything else a fodder.

But it more so shows that the counties are politically biased to gain more favor or to show their colours and loyalties proudly.

I guess it shows how different communities reflect their living conditions. People in poor living conditions tend to be rough sorts who don't care who they gossip to. People in good living conditions tend to think of themselves as "refined" and "cultured", caring much more about appearances and frowning on idle gossip, keeping mum about it unless you've "clicked" with them.

My favorite city in Cyrodiil would have to be Chorrol, with Bruma as a close second. I loved the architect of the city and I love it's inhabits...mostly becuase of Dar-Ma. I'm rather unsure of my favorite in the Isles, but I think it would the Dementia side of New Sheoth, Crucible.

None of my characters ever felt much comfortable in Skingrad. The city just seemed like the place that was meant for the wealthy people, not ruffian argonian riffraff.

My favorite's Bravil, so much fun running from the guards and treating it like a platformer, although Anvil's good for that too.

My least favorite is Cheydinhal, they just didn't do anything with it.

Dar-Ma has a very engaging personality.

And there's nothing wrong with lizard women. Read your copy of The Lusty Argonian Maid.

Best
Chorrol- the orange road is my favorite area in the game followed by the imperial reserve and it is a quite town
Bravil- the dirty atmosphere fit my best RP character so I spent lots of time there and I like to climb on the houses
Anvil- has an actual harbor and the quest around there are fun
Cheydinhal- DB and the it is the hub of some cool areas
Leyawiin- love the houses and the people it has good character but the land around is boring and not many fun quests. Also I hate oblivion's rain if the rain was better I would like the city more.
Bruma- I like the houses and the town but I like others more
Skingrad- I have not spent enough time there to enjoy it
Imperal city- Dull boring no character
Worst
Got my SKYRIM fix for today. Life is good.

My new Skyrim Let's Play. The adventures of the Loveable Rogue, Mattrim.
