How do you play on very hard?

Well?

how do you play on very hard?

do you have epic fight to the death with rats?
or are you smart and get alchemy to poison everything in sight?

try to give an example if you can

I tend to use enemas against them selfs, have mages atack

I also love traps in Forts

I don't really like summoning but I admit it gets the job doen

I usually don't play on the hardest difficulty. But when I do, I will either swing like a madman, or use carefully placed hits followed by a backing up to avoid their attacks.

swinging like a mad man almost never helps for me lol

You don't.

Swinging like a madman WILL get you killed. You gotta think when to block and when to attack, or bang-bang-bang stumble-heaven.

its usealy one. two. thee. dead

which makes me use the environment and a bow a lot

Everytime i move the difficulty slider from the middle towards the right i get killed. I dont even need to reach maximum difficulty.But i dont care what difficulty i play on, as long as i have fun

you really have to be careful with combat and jump in/strike/jump out before they can land a hit

I never use magic on this difficulty except to heal or buff, and always make sure i have several spare weapons, poisons and potions since once in combat you might be there for a while. This means you have to really prepare between fights

the biggest thing i've ever killed on very hard is an ogre when i was 7th level. Took me a loong time

it was an extremely long fight and by the end of it every bit of armour and hitting apparatus i had was blunt or broken. I was able to run round an altar and keep it out of range , and swing across every now and then. Every hit it did knocked well over half my health off and i must have gained nearly a levels worth in increased skills lol

I played on hardest setting with no weapons or armor. But I was a conjurer, so it wasn't too bad. You just have to be sure to NOT get hit by anything. Your minion can handle the offense. It's a fun challenge.

Yeah, and try not to get surrounded by creatures as your death is sealed.

enemy: *runs toward attacker*
Me: *summon gloom wraith* *chameleon on self* *sneak attack with poisoned and enchanted war axe*
enemy: *gets annihilated by me and my wraith, dies*

and for groups I use frenzy and command spells a lot. I don't wear armor with my current character, so spell efficiency is always at 100%
Manipulating enemies is so much fun.

You don't. It's ridiculously hard. But if you must, use conjuration. Summoned monsters aren't affected by the damage modifier and do full damage.

i think that's the problem with very hard difficulty, you sort of reduce your character to a creature in the game that watches other creatures battle it out lol

I tried today with one of my old characters using methods that you guys wrote here....i tried with an archer-mage....and its more fun...and challenging....but of course i died a lot. Still trying.....

hmm ,yeah that's a way too, or 100% reflect damage and 100% resist magic.

is it possible to be by your self as a non magic user?

As a non-magic user? I used to think so, but then I tried it.

Hell, I couldn't even get out of the tutorial dungeon without magic. I got massacred by rats! Then, once I (finally) got out of the sewers, I got owned by everything else. Slaughterfish? Forget about it! Goblins? You're kidding, right? I was running from mudcrabs, man. Don't even get me started on tough opponents.

On hardest difficulty, I seriously doubt anyone could actually play (do the quests, fight the creatures, etc.) the entire game as a pure melee solo character and without magic of any kind. I know I couldn't. Plus, it would be sooo tedious!

My hardest level character now sits at level 30, but ONLY because of magic!

So I started playing today as a Orc named hulk (yeah dont say it)

I'm now at Kavatch's gate
And manged to kill a few stunted scamps by my self

I've killed
mudcrabs
Bandits
goblins
Scamps
counjour

I'm Lv 2
a custom class
I believe I can beat the main quest with out magic

For those who want to know I have just complted the main quest with out magic (a heck of a lot of potions how ever)

also I'm prtey sure once you past lv 5 you need to efficient level to have a hope of wining
at lv 5 i could beat some enemeys but it was so freaking hard

and of course most of the MQ line has allys which i was kind of bumbed about

so it IS possable just not worth it unless you need to do 100% of everything

hardist quests in the MQ line is

The gods god's blood quest

the undead blades can take up to 30 miunits to kill not counting all the ghost that you may or may not kill

Aid for bumma
sure its optional but with out it martin will almost laways die or so it seems

then the artifact (i picked the Star)
was freaking hard with the vampires. died so many times, but manged to let the mage hit a few of them one to many times
plus the oblivion gate had a scamp follow me

i was an orc I had an attack of 10 for some weapons and it was like hting them with a dagger
how ever i did find out as an orc with high enough endurance a good amour can increase your hits to survive by as much as 5 hits!

also I found ways to beat certain enmeys quite easy
except clanfers, never could kill one
