Does anyone else want a weapon/punching hand like I do?

Even though it isn't though it isn't confirmed, the weapon/fist combo is the one I am most excited about. Use your weapon to deal blows while your fist acts as a parry or stun.

I totally agree, i'm glad someone else thinks the same way about it.

Nah... Weapon/ Torch combo. Yes I could use a fire spell but I would rather smash the fire into they're skull than for it to magically appear.

Why would you punch something if you've got a blade or mace in your hand? :\

I would like weapon/weapon, but not something retarded like dualwielding claymores or battleaxes.
Maybe two daggers or a shortsword/mace/axe and a dagger. Make it reasonable.
Doin my own, thang, and if you got a problem with that

they still have the two handed weapon concept which makes it impossible to have two claymores or battleaxes :)

Well i'm assuming if they will let you use weapon/fist you can punch very fast, allowing you to stun and fatigue an enemy in one hand while also doing maximum damage in the other.

Entirely speculation here but maybe one of the hand to hand perks could be a stun of some kind? In the building better combat article they talk about different perks to each weapon with swords and increased critical strikes, axes and bleed damage etc. If hand to hand has a stun of some sort it becomes a very viable skill to dual wield. For example, fighting an enemy with a sword and shield. The enemy is blocking most of my blows with his shield, so the next opening I see I throw an off-hand punch to stagger him. At this point I could launch a few quick attacks or one large blow with my main hand weapon.

I am really hoping for a lethal damage Hand to Hand perk to make a monk type character much more viable. I would be happy to also see a Hand to Hand perk that lets you do more damaging blows to fatigue like boxing or something.

I would definitely go for like a short blade and an attack spell of some sort
If I knew ahead of time where and when I would need to physically defend myself or others, I would simply avoid that time and place...but I don't...hence CPL...

You realize that many people didn't like the Hand to Hand skill except from a RP point of view because it took so much more effort just to kill a rat. And that's what I hate about Bethesda abandoning skills like that is that they don't give them a chance, they just know that a particular skill was not utilized like they were hoping, so they get rid of it instead of looking at way to improve the skill. Just that one improvement of making Hand to Hand attacks if you had your skill high enough/skill perk would have made a world of difference to me as I would have made a monk character.

there are few people who use the hand to hand skill (like the guy above or the other guy "fist" from this forums) but i think that bethesda this time aren't considering hardcore players or minorities and that sucks

I'd have to follow the Drizzt method too, the boy had some skills right there!

I do think some spells should require both hands, sorry but if you REALLY want to play a mage then be one, put the sword down and walk away with your free hands. This makes sense to me.

Well, no, but it's known that if you equip the same spells in both hands it becomes more powerful (double powerful?), so if you REALLY want to be a mage, I guess you wouldn't waste a hand with a sword when you can have MOAR FIRE !!!1!!one.

He also had a staff. I don't know if that made the difference for him, not to mention he was like uber old IIRC.

The same could be said for the sword as well. ByKrom had mentioned that Gandalf had a sword in response to tikki50 saying that any one who wants to REALLY play mages to put down the sword to free up their hands. I only mentioned the staff aspect because of the fact that magic may work differently in Tolkien's world than in Tamriel.
