So the confusion is not only what current day it is, but also when the first day is. Does the game start on day 0 or 1? The black sould gem article (http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Black_Soul_Gem) makes it look like the shade occurs on day 1, 9, 17, etc. So I waited until my journal said "days passed: 361" and I also double checked with the link to a calculator that was given. Entered in days passed: 361 and got "The Shade is Today!" Hooray I thought. But no Shade.
So then I thought Ok maybe it did it wrong.... if 361 days have PASSED, then I am actually on day 362, and I missed the Shade, right? So I saved and looked at the current day. It says day 361, but also the journal says days passed: 361. ......... That's when my mind just imploded.
The first case is if the first day is day 0. So set the day listed in the journal as days passed = n. Then it makes sense that the current days also = n.
The second case is if the first day starts on 1. So then the current day is actually n + 1. So maybe I can assume that the day starts on 0, since both numbers are equal in the game.
If that's true, then the article can't be right. If the "Days Passed" says 1, 9, 17, etc., then that means the current day is day 1, 9, 17, etc. But it just said that it starts on the first day, which I (probably incorrectly) determined was day 0.
If the article is correct, and if 1 day has passed, does it meant it is now day 2, and does the Shade occur on day 2, 10, 18, etc.?
If you use the calculator that was linked, should you actually subtract 1 from the current day and plug THAT into the number of days passed, instead of the listed journal days passed?
My head hurts and I still can't find the Shade of the Revenant......
