Exceptionally beautiful, Snehk. I love your star/universe motif. I sincerely hope that one day you throw these together in a little book; they'd be a great addition to anyone's collection. :D

Thank you! I'm planning to do so, first by publishing an e-book online and then looking for a publisher for physical copies, but I think that I'll have to write a bit more. And I will surely gladly accept help of a skilled illustrator!

Here is a new poem! It is different in its composition and conclusion, but I hope that You will all like it.
Spoiler:
The Far Ends

When a black midnight yelled my elder chamber clock,
Away I put the quill I held, sipped some o’ hock,
And right I fell into my bed, cut as a log.
In the pillow sank my head, like corpse in a bog,
In the endless space I was, asleep yet awake,
Beyond corporeal laws until the daybreak.

To the Earth turned have I
Then fast began to fly.

To my maiden coy and comely with arms open
Waiting for me, singing warmly for her chosen.
Yet there came the darkest heart as I fell from height,
Not from anger took that start, but from lying blight.
Thrown to stars by the great force, fighting started I
But I only made it worse and soon had to die.

Pushed away to far end,
Coming back to defend.

Raging through space as I rot, turning to embers
Return I can not, but my lady remembers.
If love or longing won’t bring us back together,
This most painful sting can be gone altogether.
In attachment strength lies as all the wounds it mends,
And one day it will reunite us, the far ends.
Edit: Well, I don't think that it really fits with the rest of the poems for this book, and my original idea was much different. I'll rewrite it.

^Really good, Snehk! I like your style of wording; it's got that 'old english' flair about it.

To me, I took it as a man who falls asleep and dream travels to his deceased lady friend, but is snatched away again upon waking.

Thank you! This might come from experiences with other germanic languages and finding information about old and middle English.

My first intent was to write about overcoming great obstacles to reunite with a lost lover. It ended like that, just a whole lot darker. The great thing about poetry is that you can interpret it in many ways, and there are no wrong interpretations.

I spend about ten hours at university almost daily, studying two faculties at the same time. This makes me pretty much pumped out and keeps my Muse from showing up, but once I'll get used to my new schedule, I'll most likely get back to work on these!

I think it's bolder than your other compositions, but that doesn't make it bad by any means. And I would argue it still fits in with the theme, but in a much more subtle way. Reminds me of the whole loop of the universe: always was, always will be, etc. etc.

Bravo, I really enjoyed it. :D

Thank you! Your opinions are a big motivating factor for me. Maybe I'll write something over the weekend!

EDIT: A new sonnet! This one keeps the Shakespearean formula of ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme pattern and iambic pentameter (10 syllable lines). I also decided to use dream vision allegory in my next few poems with a bit darker tone.
Spoiler:
The Great Star-Maker

Twas when the Moon coming of nightfall marks,
During my sleep I heard this greatest call.
To the world released countless tiny sparks,
That bound together make those shy stars whole.

The elder one that binds the space I saw,
Within lost rows of endless hopeful flames,
And he gave us this power, now I know,
To burn in the stars our love and our names.

Despite this strength, we still wither away.
Fades to blackness a single spark lost lone,
And if separate such a flame will stay,
Its most soothing warmth will be shortly gone.

And by his decision I don’t know why,
My destiny is to give up and die.
Yet another edit: Two new poems venturing into the darker themes.
Spoiler:
Dreamer's Escape

In despair, sorrow,
This world is hollow.
Rotting, imploded,
Dead overloaded.

To great nebula fly will I
And stardust I will sip as milk,
And cease will ever single cry,
With all tears woven into silk.

Hurt in rain of lies,
Spirit of mine dies
Trying to endure
With only one cure.

Freely I will bowl in the skies,
High above our lost, blackened land,
Hurtling through space meteorites
As feathers light, with single hand.

In anger zealous,
Of freedom jealous,
I choose to dream on
This world as bygone.

Leaving to stars, with every night
Among other great star-makers
I continue my joyous flight,
Away from all dread life-breakers.

I choose to dream on
A dreamer's escape.
Spoiler:
Void

In void
I am
Stuck and
Losing
My heart.

In dread
Haunting
Silence
Dying
Vain soul.

Empty
Murder
Taking
In me
Dark start.

Fleeting
Blackness
Life as
Written
In coal.
Spoiler:
Isolation

Isolated I stay
On a comet long lost
And I chose it that way
Yet I hate it the most.

I cannot leave it though
As my mind will crumble
Thus I must remain so
Hiding my pain humble.

A few friends and I are doing a D&D campaign online over Roll20 and we decided partway through to stream it. Here's a playlist of what we've got so far!

The stream messed up on the first episode and made my voice super quiet, but it was fixed for episode 2.

Here's the playlist!

"Starmakers" is now complete! I'll work on illustrations and it'll be ready for release as a chapbook! I'm re-uploading all of them here.
Spoiler:
Starmakers

Orion’s Pearls

All the stars in your eyes,
Through your pupils shining,
Compare not to the nebular beauty,
Concealed within your irises.

Clouds cold as ice,
Yet warmth emanating,
To take joy in them it is my duty,
As endless lie within them blisses.

Excellence they reflect,
Only seen when one is dreaming,
In white void submerged,
Clouds forming whirls.

Two comets perfect,
With starlight gleaming,
From Orion’s Belt they emerged,
Two flawless pearls.

____

The Brightest of the Stars

Throughout space far and wide
Among countless shining stars,
Two celestial bodies feelings can’t hide
An argument of lovers, Venus and Mars.

In between their fiery battles, Earth,
With its patches of green and blue,
To mere mankind gave birth,
And let it live without any clue.

On a rock by its star lost am I,
But my star I see, is you.
Your shine pleasing to the eye,
Together a nova we will do.

In this gleam will pale Venus and Mars
From our love will be born the brightest of the stars.

____

Fading Light

If our Sun will fade out
And we shall perish at once,
I will still remember,
Thousands of suns I had felt,
With your every touch.

If our Sun will fade out
And we shall perish at once,
My heart with stardust ember
Enkindled will melt,
Your shine means so much.

If our Sun will fade out
And we shall perish at once,
One last time I will ask
For your love, however shy,
And my spirit you shall receive.

If our Sun will fade out
And we shall perish at once,
In your light I will bask
Forsaking the blackened sky,
And your love will make me live.

____

Planewalking

Out of the space deaf and blind
With countless resonating strings woven,
I can’t put at ease my mind,
Beyond planes of reality cloven.

Thrown into black pit my body suffers,
Yet still, my spirit endures
Even though my every limb falters,
My heart withstands tortures.

It is a strange power which gives me strength,
Constantly bringing me to you,
Able to cut planes at any length
Between dimensions, across and through.

Defeated lies the void, that separated you and me,
By the might of love, as pure as it can be.

_____

Lightshade

To describe you, I will need to hue my whole universe
Taking the star paint - no worse, I will start with golden gloom of the moon,
Matching it with azure heart of the noon, and crimson flames of all the suns,
A fiery comet I will stop at once, taking its tail of rainbows and sparks
To adorn it with cosmic marks, and wrap as a band of emeralds.

Using a prism, I will cut and spread the length of a wave
To receive shades of a manner more subtle than brave: silvery droplets of falling rain,
Daybreak arising star’s rosy stain, and all the pigments of tender light,
Ingraining the canvas of petals bright, in all of the flowers around my world
I will engrave your person pearled, so it will forever remain with me there.

My whole universe, touched with the shades of light most true
Is the only thing I can give to you.

_____

Unity

For the ruthless flow of time
The remedy is none,
Separate cracks piece most sublime
But stands strong reinforced as one.

Till death and beyond,
Against entropy love goes
Forming an unbreakable bond,
In unity which we chose.

Leaving our bodies bygone
And weakened by countless scars,
We shall live on,
In a dance of entangled stars.

_____

Sky-field of roses

Looking at the vault of heaven
This cold and stern morning,
I saw racers of the skies
Dragging clouds on the heights,
Up they soared with Jove’s blessing,
Leaving curls by chariots riven.

Looking at the vault of heaven
This dark and brooding evening,
I saw painters with their brushes
Giving skies thousands of blushes,
Faded strokes of last light painting,
Into blackness shortly driven.

Looking at the vault of heaven
This starry, ink black night,
I saw star-maker that reposes
Within countless lucent roses,
With my love in its sight,
All of them to you given.

_____

Traveller’s Grace

Where do you wander, oh the smallest of the stars?
Seeking your place mayhaps?
Seeking luck perchance?
What is your need?

It is your saunter, fortune in late lives of ours
Giving to us en masse.

Giving love a chance
To do its deed.

Away I put the quill I held, sipped some o’ hock,
And right I fell into my bed, cut as a log.

______

Isolation

Isolated I stay
On a comet long lost
And I chose it that way
Yet I hate it the most.

I cannot leave it though
As my mind will crumble
Thus I must remain so
Hiding my pain humble.

_______

Starway

This is a way that I could take,
Into heavens a moonlit path,
The highway broad for unawake
Escaping from the earthly wrath.

Just hit the road
Ride over stars,
Let them explode
And land on Mars.

Blazing away on motorbike,
Into darkest black hole I drove
To distant earths I take a hike
Passing through interstellar cove.

Aflame in joy
I melt my bike
Then wings deploy
And through space pike.

But now that over is my time
To my prison I must return,
Just to decay in earthly slime
And unwillingly in it burn.

_____

The unbroken

Shall I run and hide in my land of dreams?
Or should I stay and face earthly terror?
There is no simple answer so it seems,
And death is the only knowledge bearer.

Within all of us, all the stardust born,
Hidden is the strongest of fragile flames
And in its heat I shall stand as reborn,
To continue struggling, to find my aims.

I should remain as a rock unbroken
And stand strong against trickery of time.
Seeking my strength in the stars unspoken,
I should prevail in darkness bearer’s prime.

No longer from my dread will I escape,
I will move on and fight the blackened shape.

______

Dearest Victoria

On the shores of dead Styx,
Awaiting ferry black,
I gazed into Abyss,
It dared not to stare back.

Halls of the damned passing
Their blighted grasp I broke,
And their flames harassing
Seemed nothing but a joke.

In Circle of Darkness
The Lord of the Depths sits,
And stained with his blood writ,
I take into blackness.

Without a wince nor cry,
In pure euphoria,
I have battled for my
Dearest victoria!

____

Till the End

Throughout eternity
Coldness of empty wastes
Is beaten by the flames
Of all lucent roses.

And a pity,
When their gleam fades
Dread in its place
Blackness closes.

Yet undefeated stays
One who fought till the end,
To reach stars and transcend
Against the time and death.

With passing days
On action spend,
I apprehend.
Till the last breath.

Thus shaking off despair
And preparing my arms,
I resist all the charms
Left by death arising.

Once ceases glare
And nothing harms,
The bell alarms,
Unsurprising.

Coming
Of the
Aeons
After.

Good for you, Snehk! I hope your book does well!

I made up a silly Christmas song for my nieces, but now I keep singing it. Lol.
Hidden:
I went to the zoo on Christmas Day,
The giraffes were having a nice souffle,
The horses were eating some strawberry hay,
Cos I went to the zoo on Christmas day.

I went to the zoo on Christmas day,
The flamingos had painted themselves all grey,
The monkeys had all come out to play,
Cos I went to the zoo on Christmas day,

I went to the zoo on Christmas day,
The keeper said that I didn't have to pay,
I met a friendly antelope on the way,
Cos I went to the zoo on Christmas day,

Here's a short one that I wrote recently.
Spoiler:
Buried Alive

In the prison of flesh
Chained are my dying bones
Soul within constraining.

In my mind reigning
Muffled agony moans,

It's been a while and I went through some tough stuff lately, but I managed to get into Google's bookstore partnership and I had published "Starmakers" there! I will upload a link to it once it passes verification. Here are two latest additions that should make it all complete!
Spoiler:
Thorns

I will never hurt you,
That’s what we both swear
With intentions most true,
Both stuck in despair.

This is what I always hear,
When our next fight begins,
From your lie cursed lips my dear,
Yet my love never thins.

But when I hear your blighted lies
And the pain you’ve dealt isn’t gone,
Each time a piece of my soul dies.
Take a punch and carry on.

Yet when separate the longing starts,
Between love and hate we’re still stuck.
Maybe it’s the blackness in our hearts,
Or we may just be out of luck.
Spoiler:
Dying Breath

That blackest cleave my dear I grieve,
Will you forgive alive no more?
Forsaken start made us apart
Bleeding my heart to dreaded gore.
Between us cold plate of dreams old,
By this deaf mould disjoined souls poor.
A raven's shout in death devout
Means with no doubt - stay nevermore.
My love I leave, to in pain live,
But I believe that once ashore,
We will not part nor whence depart
And lives restart, just as I swore.
Reaper behold coming of old,
Of last words bold spoken afore.
Doubt without and honest about
Our last route out to land of laur.

I regret not this outlaw lot,
Whole life a dot closed in lost stars.
Vain my escape from darkest shape,
Once left reshape it will my scars.
In fiery pain I do have gain,
Memories rain of loving ours.
Thus I will stay on my wrong way,
Worse every day blessing of Mars.
For this I fought and I can not
Believe the thought it is a farce.
Blackened cape off myself I scrape,
This charred drape received from Ares
To conceal stain of bloody reign
Of deadly chain wrapped round my arms.
My soul I fray to move away,
Further each day from cruel stars.
