Characters spanning multiple games
What are your thoughts on having a PC that is in multiple games? In my opinion, it's difficult to justify lore-wise since you go from a huge hero to a prisoner. However, I'm sure many of you have thought of creative ways to roleplay it out. I'm currently planning a character that plays through the MQ in each Elder Scrolls (main series) game, but am having some justifying making some transitions.

What ever happened to the Empress? Maybe the hero got a little frisky with her and Uriel clapped his old friend in irons until the last day of his (Uriel's) life.
As to the 200-year gap between Oblivion and Skyrim, there's always that offer to become one of Earil's exhibits in the Shivering Isles.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.
Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

It is relatively simple to find a character who could live as long as to be around for the events from ESO to Skyrim, and much easier for Arena to Skyrim.
The issue is the story doesn't make sense if you have 1 character to do the lot.

Yeah, but you'd have to be a pointy-eared magic nerd in order to live that long without outside help, which is rather limiting in character selectionCBR JGWRR wrote:It is relatively simple to find a character who could live as long as to be around for the events from ESO to Skyrim, and much easier for Arena to Skyrim.

I said relatively simple, not lots of choice.Dark Spark wrote:Yeah, but you'd have to be a pointy-eared magic nerd in order to live that long without outside help, which is rather limiting in character selectionCBR JGWRR wrote:It is relatively simple to find a character who could live as long as to be around for the events from ESO to Skyrim, and much easier for Arena to Skyrim.

Nothing but a bit of overzealous bio engineering. reverse engineering the Altmer dna and replicating it's longevity to all other races. :p

Tamriel has magic right? Any mage could increase their lifespan enough to survive 200 years. I mean, I still choose a mer anyway, I have a dunmer that's been in each game since Morrowind, he even made a brief appearance in Daggerfall(By brief, I mean that arrow came out of nowhere!)

Re: Characters spanning multiple games
Alright so I've put some thought toward my character, and wanted to know if there were any flaws or anything in his whole story arc.
I'm sure there are a lot of problems with this, so please point them out since I want to try to make this relatively seamless.

Re: Characters spanning multiple games
I've created a "family line" so far, the Julalla line for a Breton, but I've never had the same character make an appearance throughout multiple games. Unless of course you count meeting my Oblivion Character as Sheogorath while playing Skyrim. Some game series work well with the "one character to rule them all," such as Mass Effect. I don't feel like The Elder Scrolls is one of those series.
Oh for the love of little green tomatoes...

Re: Characters spanning multiple games
I roleplay my main recurring character as an avatar or living agent of the Scrolls, so him appearing at various points in history with the same appearance and abilities doesn't have to be explained away. He's the Mysterious Stranger. Like Pelinal, he appears when he needs to, and then goes away for a while. It just works for me.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: Characters spanning multiple games
That only works if you make the character look like Clint Eastwood. And good luck finding a poncho.
