You are aware just how deadly a boxer can be right? >_> given the right gloves.. your looking at harsh internal damage, broken bones, and collapsed armor. You could just as easily achieve the same results with a club or mace.. and either of those two are viable weapons in every regards, so why not the concept of a cestus? Where as a boxer may lack in range or perceived threat as with say a sword/axe or gun.. it makes it up with sheer speed, mobility, and convenience... Any fellow could throw a punch, but it's a whole different story when primarily focuses on said skill. Lets not mention unarmed fighters are used to fighting others who use weapons. How often do you think the reverse is true, bc something tells me someone is going to largely underestimate his foe and end up disarmed or caught off guard.. unless you have a gun.. then you just point and the dude is dead..
but really though the same tactics won't work on somebody that can counter your moves.
But really though, in regards to demons and op monsters, almost any weapon would have little effect unless you got some mad skills to compete. I mean even if you had an axe, most people will still have to slowly eat away at it's health or get lucky by hitting something vital. Only downfall for a unarmed combatant is if anything they can do is easily shrugged off.. and in that case.. better learn how to use the environment or opportunities to your advantage.. or run.. preferably faster than any of your pals..
None the less, what makes them so rare and interesting is the sense of handicap and challenge. Hints to why I'm considering one if given the chance. I love trying out new styles that stand out from my norm in gaming or RPs <_< like a thugish brute who is all about strength(TA2) or somebody that is inherently a light weight fighter that wouldn't stand a chance against a knight unless set in their favor(SHY) or even a duo to where one is practically defenseless while the other acts as a guardian(C&G)
