You are aware just how deadly a boxer can be right? >_> given the right gloves.. your looking at harsh internal damage, broken bones, and collapsed armor. You could just as easily achieve the same results with a club or mace.. and either of those two are viable weapons in every regards, so why not the concept of a cestus? Where as a boxer may lack in range or perceived threat as with say a sword/axe or gun.. it makes it up with sheer speed, mobility, and convenience... Any fellow could throw a punch, but it's a whole different story when primarily focuses on said skill. Lets not mention unarmed fighters are used to fighting others who use weapons. How often do you think the reverse is true, bc something tells me someone is going to largely underestimate his foe and end up disarmed or caught off guard.. unless you have a gun.. then you just point and the dude is dead.. but really though the same tactics won't work on somebody that can counter your moves.

But really though, in regards to demons and op monsters, almost any weapon would have little effect unless you got some mad skills to compete. I mean even if you had an axe, most people will still have to slowly eat away at it's health or get lucky by hitting something vital. Only downfall for a unarmed combatant is if anything they can do is easily shrugged off.. and in that case.. better learn how to use the environment or opportunities to your advantage.. or run.. preferably faster than any of your pals..

None the less, what makes them so rare and interesting is the sense of handicap and challenge. Hints to why I'm considering one if given the chance. I love trying out new styles that stand out from my norm in gaming or RPs <_< like a thugish brute who is all about strength(TA2) or somebody that is inherently a light weight fighter that wouldn't stand a chance against a knight unless set in their favor(SHY) or even a duo to where one is practically defenseless while the other acts as a guardian(C&G)
FoT: If the court mage is going about to teach some spells, do you think he may be willing to lend some books?

GRDT: I'm not sure if I would describe much that we do here as standard combat RP. Heck even in Blacklight which had a ton of fighting Velvet went by for a fair bit of time with his character having a broken arm. He still managed to find plenty of things for his character to do even though he wasn't all that effective in combat for a time.

Pokemon: So I've mulled over it, and I think Im going to cancel the reopening of the RP. School is coming much sooner than I had anticipated, which means less free time to DM. I apologize wholeheartedly to any and all of those who had signed up for the RP.

We don't know what to do, justice is MIA, and we have no real direction. We have no idea how to find the Prince because we really don't have any clues. If there is a goal in mind then make it a tad more obvious.

I haven't been reading WoN, but I bet I can give you some cryptic clues: *cue ominous music* Traaaavel to the year 1999, ooOOoo. There you will find a party, OOOooOOO. You will find the Prince under the purple rain, oOOO001100.

There you go, you should be able to work off that. If it doesn't work, then go to the library and look under M in the History & Politics section.
Start the groove.

WoN: There's little for us to do, Shadow. Justice seems to have left the forums or is very busy with life. Everyone else is either busy with life, waiting for something to happen or just bored of the RP and i'm unsure what we can do as a group.

Pokémon: :(

WOD: I'm in a bit of a pickle. Because Justice is very busy with life or left the forums, i'm kinda stuck with having to try to balance the interactions with others and having to find ways to avoid speaking to Ryan due to there being no chance of interaction untill he returns. :-/

You know, that shouldn't be too hard. You could just, y'know, speak to people other than Ryan. It'll be alright. :P

I don't know if you understand how much people not posting actually does hold an RP back. It's bad enough Justice went MIA, you purposely joining him doesn't somehow heal the situation.
TBH, it'd probably just be safe to assume that Justice's character is dead anyway

WOD: When players disappear 'What are their character's doing?' is a pretty difficult problem to overcome as a GM. I usually don't like to go "Oh, they're dead." because the player could come back the next day and want to hop back in for all I know.

Talking about Ryan in relation to WOD kind of makes me do a double take.

NT: All honesty my main motivation for keeping Jonathan with these three is that for the time being having a squishy human with the group weakens it. Plus it raises the stakes a little because if he dies it could potentially lead to a price on your heads and possibly even start a war.

Also if things follow their current course there's good potential for Tyson being united with Azarias and Meva in the near term which would effectively leave Sadbh as the odd person out for a time. Velvet, you may be fine with this but in the event that you'd like to join the group sooner rather than later let me know.

WoN: Well yeah justice not being on is a bit of a bugger but I want you guys to go out and actually look for him, I'm not going to be holding your hands, I'll be plopping you in areas giving you directions and then its up to you and playing to your strengths as a whole group to find the next clue. But here's one right now, there's always a fortune teller at a carnival right? And this is at a point where the real world and the world of night... Bleed together. Who's to say that this one is going to be a fake?

FoT: I'm not saying I'm actively intending on staying back or off to the side :S no fun if ppl don't partake, but considering there are multiple characters that are quite passive compared to most, I just felt like pointing out the obvious in reply to Baloth. I highly doubt a wandering scholar, a pacifist monk, ect are going to be all for joy about assaulting a fort.. I recon it would be one of the last things they'll consider. I mean 'why' should they, this is a legitament question most characters tend to ask themselves, what would be in their best interests and at which point does a common goal get established.. and thus becomes personal <_< Granted I do kind of overthink.. well.. everything, but there is reasoning behind all this jibber jabber that spouts out when I'm thinking out loud Image Anyways.. most characters tend to use a common trend to fall in line with the rest of the group.. less they be left behind in the dust. Be it done by sharing a common path or befriending another, or hell even out of mild curiosity, they eventually find their justification on to 'why' they on said journey with a common goal without wandering off on their own little adventure

The reason I made mention to this is bc I too am trying to find a reason, or rather an excuse really(I do indeed have a faint clue to what)<_< for him to join in, without expecting one bit for the world itself to bend to his will >_< To rearrange any missions or story to accommodate for timid characters.. no.. far better just to throw them straight into the frying pan to warm up their feet(i.e 'scouting team' immediately runs into trouble) and hope for the best they fall in line with everyone else. May seemed a bit forced when you think about it.. but hey, it works  But again jibber jabber, so do as I do and take this text lightly

~Also.. kind of need to point this out rather bluntly rather than repetitively hinting at it.. Naeryan kind of has been trying to visit the court mage for some time.. and I acknowledge I can be vague at times, but I did PM POMC about it in hopes of a post

And sing I shall while I stand over your bloody corpse :D oh wait.. that's something Farqual would do.. wrong RP

But really though.. big battles.. less than favorable.. a small skirmish? Perfect for a nightblade wouldn't you say

FoT: I wasn't suggesting that the squishy priest/mage/scholar-types all run, arse first, at the enemy garrison  but...well, they should go, anyway, even if you have to contrive a reason. This RP isn't really about sitting around and sipping tea. Rebellion. Templars. Noblemen. Soldiers. Boombaboom.

That's why I made Baldric an opportunist, instead of just a survivor. He knows the safest course would be to just book it in the opposite direction of this conflict, but he's tired of running. As he sees it, if he proves himself in this conflict, garners enough attention and respect from soldiers, nobles, the Duke, maybe he can become a knight or a lord himself. Prosper, settle down, live an easier, better life.

Maybe a pacifist would do it simply to end the conflict, save as many lives as can be saved. Maybe a scholar would want to learn more about battle, or about this conflict, or hell, the geography of the world we're exploring.

You don't have to run arse-first at an army. Heh. You're not lollipop vendors or dental hygienists. You have spells, weapons, armour. Don't have to be in the thick of it like Baldric's going to be. Flank, skirmish on the sidelines, protect allies. Hell, since we're attacking a fort, sneak past the main force and capture their commander or something.

Otherwise, what's the point? :P Epilogue; X sat around and occasionally ate some nice meals until he died of boredom. The end.
