\o/ Does this mean that WOD is ready to go and all it needs is for a start date to be sorted out along with the notes on NPCs to be rewritten due to unfortunate circumstances?

Considering others have still to make a sheet, I doubt we're ready quite yet.Thelastdovah wrote:\o/ Does this mean that WOD is ready to go and all it needs is for a start date to be sorted out along with the notes on NPCs to be rewritten due to unfortunate circumstances?

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
The only other person who expressed interest is Weasel so we should wait and see if he wants to join or not.
I'm really not surprised that nobody went for a Nosferatu. That's not criticising you guys, I don't mind what clan you make and you shouldn't avoid picking a clan just because somebody else is using it. But looking at the 5 clans Nosferatu is probably the least appealing.

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
Oh, I was strongly considering going Nosferatu, but I felt that Gangrel fit much better with the sort of character I had going. More feral and savage than human. Base instincts. Survival driven.

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
Just keep in mind that those sterotypes aren't universally true, would be an awfully dull setting if they were. But it does give you an idea of your average member of the clan. Plenty of Gangrel are calm, collected and well spoken. Just because a Nosferatu comes off as terrifying doesn't mean they can't be one of the nicest people you ever meet. Daeva are usually charming doesn't mean they can't be hot headed and have little regard for human life. Your clan doesn't define your character.

True. Still, the clan power and everything feels better suited for the image of my character I have in my head.

The fact that Mekhet are secretive is very much a contrast to Kris.

I chose Ventrue as I felt it suited Leanne and it'll be interesting to see how a Ventrue Garda will turn out. That said, i didn't really pay much attention to the other clans once i made my mind up about the Ventrue one. :-/

I chose Daeva because I like their creativeness that is innately disturbing. I mean yes, I do so love my pretty characters but I really wanted to make an artist this time..

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
Is it possible to leave our reason for being alone on the streets open, so it can be revealed later?
Because my character wouldn't exactly be alone on a street at night, unless there was something important going on beforehand that made it that way... Thus it may be an opportunity for character development if it's later revealed to someone.

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
Well it is set in December, the sun is down from about 16:15 in the afternoon to 08:30 the following morning. Although you had to be abducted before 11. That is why I set it in December, the nights are long. If I set in in June then the sun would only be down for like 7 hours, that is much less time to do stuff.
I do want you to tell me why they were on the streets that night. Could be walking the dog, out Christmas shopping, off to sell cocaine, whatever. Could just be going out to their car after work. And because it is December it is a wide space of time when you could be out. It gives information about the character but also helps with other stuff, I mean if they were off to meet with friends then said friends would wonder why you never turned up. If you really don't want to reveal the reason to the other PCs then you can PM me it.

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
This is my fault not yours and for that I'm really sorry.
I knew I would regret not clearly having a limit on money in the OP, I did in S&S and I do here. I just assumed nobody would have a crazy amount of money. I'm sorry, but that's too much money. I know it makes sense with the character, I do. The problem is that it completely screws up the game. Also kind of weird carrying only dollars in Ireland but still. But billions of dollars? I don't want to see characters with more than €500,000. With billions he could just hire Blackwater or someone to do everything for him, buy every other PC the best gear ever. There would be no tension at all, you could just throw money at everything to solve almost every problem. Almost any reward you could get would be pointless when you could just buy anything.

For some reason I think my own rich kid is packing light. But I'm horrible with how much is the nominal amount of money.. so I'm just gonna stick with that.

Well just because his dad has loads of money doesn't mean he is going to give his son access to hundreds of thousands of euro at any given time.

I know that. And especially since trouble little party animal, which is the main reason how I'm putting him 'light on cash..' probably.

And he seems like the type to blow through thousands a week if he knew his father would give him thousands more the following week. Wouldn't 1billion dollars be less in euros?

Yeah, I figured. I just wanted to see if it'd work or not. My backup plan is that Walter locked all the non-physical bank money in a trust fund.Knight Captain Kerr wrote:I knew I would regret not clearly having a limit on money in the OP, I did in S&S and I do here. I can stick with the 500,000 euro, and I didn't notice the dollars vs. euros cash thing.

Re: World Of Darkness - Shadows Of Ireland
Sorry again Weasel, I should have put something in the OP, it's my fault. I've added something now anyway. But everything other than the money looks fine, so change that and it should be alright.
Yeah it is TLD. A billion dollars is only a measly €726,586,000. Can't buy anything worthwhile with that. Then again that isn't an infinite amount of money, plenty of lottery winners go bankrupt within years.
As a side note, I actually know a James Brennan.
----
Right, I see you edited your sheet. The money in the trust fund is fine, he can't access it. The gold is fine as it is pretty much like the trust fund, money he has but doesn't really have convenient access to. Everything appears to be fine to me. I'll add you now.
Barring unforeseen events we'll be starting sometime this weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday.) I'll send you all PMs when we do start.

The fledglings were risen to their feet and lead into a back room. Finally they had the sacks and gags taken off one by one, but their hand bindings in the form of cable ties remained. As the sacks and gags were being taken off the Prince spoke. "I would have taken you to my office, but if one of you does try something foolish I'd rather not have to deal with the mess. I'm sure you have a lot of questions." With the sacks off the fledglings could see they were in some kind of janitorial room with no windows, they were standing in a row side by side with the door behind them. Also behind them standing by the door was a man who looked like he was in his 20's wearing a purple tracksuit and holding a golden Uzi. Standing in front of them was a woman in who looked like she was in her 30s and was wearing a red dress with flat black shoes. Next to her was a man who looked like he was in his 40's wearing a black suit jacket, black suit trousers, black dress shoes, a white dress shirt and no tie. The fledglings could sense something about the man in the tracksuit, the woman in the dress and in each other that was absent in the man in the suit. They didn't know it but that was the beast that was now within them, the man in the suit was the only one in the room who wasn't a vampire. Ryan recognised the man in the suit, he was Aiden Riley, the owner of Rouge a nightclub on the south side of the city near St Stephen's Green. They had never talked but Ryan knew of him and his nightclub, said nightclub carried a very gothic theme. Ryan also knew the man was older than he looked, Rouge had been opened in the 70's and Aiden had been the owner since the 90's. Ryan knew Aiden was actually in his early 60s. "I'm Naoise Stoker and this is Aiden Riley, I'm the Prince of... wait, I know you. You're Ryan O'Connor. Viktor, you didn't think it was worth mentioning one of them was Ryan O'Connor?" said Naoise. "I didn't know who he was. If I had." said Viktor.
