Ok, I never said he didn't say that, but I was asking ''Why?''CBR JGWRR wrote:He chose a different path. He does explain it.
why would he choose a different path? how is the path he chose better than the alternative?

So it may very well be that he can only be slain in Aetherius or else where.. which is ironic to where he flees to replenish himself.. is the same place he is vulnerable"Meyz mul, Dovahkiin. You have become strong. But I am Al-du-in, Firstborn of Akatosh! Mulaagi zok lot! I cannot be slain here, by you or anyone else! You cannot prevail against me. I will outlast you... mortal!"

This is all well and good, but if you remember, Miraak states that Hakon and the tongues came to him: "They wanted to use me to deal with Alduin - Hakon and the rest. I chose otherwise." so whether or not he knew Dragonrend, had he simply chosen to go along with them, he would have learned Dragonrend and been able to take on Alduin, just like them or us.BetaB17 wrote:Well keep this in mind, Dragonrend is the only sole reason you yourself could beat Alduin, it's sole purpose is to weaken an steal the flight of dragons, forcing them to experience mortality. It was made by those who grew tired of their overlords, and pooled all their hate into this sole creation. The three nordic heroes had this shout, and it was originally from skyrim.
Alduin is the very prime of dragon-kind, and he's granted far more privileges than any other. However if you were to ask what his weakness would be, it's mortality... that is why the 3 heroes stood a chance. Granted they were still backed into a corner but they fared better than any rival dragon could.. why? Bc they have that one, sole shout at their disposal.
So in truth, it's quiet possible Miraak never learned such a shout, the very land he ruled was well isolated, however unlike skyrim, many of it's people still followed the dragoncult and lived in prosperity.. rather than fear. So while he may have mighty powers himself, it does little good if you can't harm or even kill The World Eater.
But if our god gifted ability of being able to absorb dragon souls is unusable against Alduin, I can't see how us being Dragonborn would hold any importance. The two things that make the Dragonborn stand out as ''The Ultimate Dragon Slayer'' are his/her ability to learn Dragon Shouts easily, and his/her ability to absorb the souls of fallen dragons and permanently kill them. Other than that, we're just the same as everyone else.CBR JGWRR wrote:The whole reason he was beaten easily is because the PC is dragonborn - anyone else wouldn't stand a chance. (Miraak excepted, he could have beaten Alduin, it was probably why he was dragonborn in the first place) Absorbing the soul has nothing to do with it, it's the prophecy which says only the dragonborn can stop Alduin.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the significance of this. What makes us special is the soul absorbing and shouting ability, so the whole ''chosen one'' thing falls flat to me if it goes unused. It feels a little cheap to be honest; as if the gods of Nirn (or Elder Scrolls, or whatever) simply have an On/Off switch for Alduin's immortality.CBR JGWRR wrote:Its important not because of the soul absorbing or shouting, but because the PC is the doom-driven hero/heroine of prophecy. Being dragonborn is just the proof.

HAHAHAHA good answer dude! That pretty much sums up a whole page of pointless banter in one word. Well done!CBR JGWRR wrote:Meh.
