Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
the mages guild quest where you have to find someone who goes missing, and there is a cave with zombies squelching around in it: at low level, scary
the DB story when you're all in the room looking at a gutted corpse and one person is staring right at you, that was very good
the vampire in the DB always freaked me out a bit
fighting myself in the SI main quest also was hair raising, esp wit the added pressure of wanting to get the shadow weapon off him
but no 1 was the first time i jumped through a gate. That was probably the best TES experience for me to date

THe Black Door's greeting when you join. Welcome home... So mysterious and creepy, yet so... I don't know...
Ah, poison, when in doubt just double the dose!

Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
The first time I saw the intro video it gave me goosebumps. There was just something about it that made it seem like something epic was about to happen. Later I laughed at the intro video when I saw the enormous guards walking around the city. Also, the first moment I realized that I could go anywhere I wanted to gave me goosebumps. Previously, I had only played so called "rail shooters" like Quake and Half-life. In those games I would often make my way to the edge of the world and stare out into the skybox, longing to be able to go into the rest of the world depicted in them. Needless to say, I absolutely loved being able to go anywhere I wanted without any restrictions.

Get the pirates killed at the waterfront at some point and then get arrested for the first time. Do your jail time in the Imperial City prison and then immediately fast travel to the waterfront, walk to the pirate ship and start scavenging the lower hold. I won't say more.
My most memorable creepy walk was doing Pale Pass the first time. It was night.
Having Captain Piccard do the intro ruined it for me the same as if John Wayne would have done the voice. I do like the music, though.

For me it was the theme song. When it grew louder and louder, then just broke to the softer ending... Wow!
Or, did you want in-game? For proper gameplay, though I imagine it's rather cliche, but Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon fighting over the Temple of the One did it for me.

My first time in an Oblivion Gate. I was blown away. Then again, there was one other. Mehrunes Dagon in the Imperial City.

Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
First time I met a Will-o-the-wisp. I first saw some glowing light, and went to investigate. Then it disappears, and battle music starts. Next thing I know is I'm out of mana with damaged attributes, and as I'm waving my Dwarven Longsword in panic, it just keeps saying my attack has no effect. I nearly shat my pants. I still hate them. Most annoying enemies in the game. Probably except for the different daedra with burden enchanted weapons(I'm almost always full on encumberance)

Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
The fork of horripilation, duh.
Or how about this: I'm in the Deadlands, right, and there's just one flame atronach left between me and the door to the sigil keep. So, I hunker down in sneak, giving my magicka a chance to replenish so I can be ready to hurl some frost after I put an arrow in her back. I notice she turned and is strolling my way, still not seeing me, but much closer and the jig is up. Very slowly I back up behind the wall, keeping my eyes fixed on ms. hot stuff, steadily...stealthily...and then...I just about hit the roof.
Thank you, harrada root, for not only scaring the ever-loving snot out of me, but for helping me reveal my location to the daedra that is now raining hell fire down upon me until I can find the controller that left my hands the instant you reached out and violated my squatting elf. I appreciate now having the inability to move an inch in hell without spinning around to survey for those perverse tendrils. Nevermind all the demons and lava and sinister traps. No, when in Mehrunes' realm, beware the devil's fescue.

Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
I used the console to explore the Unmarked Cave, for some reason it just gave me goosebumps.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time."
"So do I, and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide.
All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

Re: What moments in Oblivion gave you goosebumps?
The first time leaving the sewers was pretty exciting, having a whole new province to explore and what not. I also enjoyed the physics, as Morrowind didn't have object physics. I played with the chain in the jail cell for a good 30 seconds or so, and had fun tossing the plate around. I also enjoyed doing the dead drops and seeing the ultimate result, which was pretty eerie.
