Morrowind House Mods

Post by Denina »

There is a topic for the best mods, but I haven't found one for favorite house mods. I passionately love them, even the mediocre to poorly made ones, just to see the neat ideas people put to make them functional and comfortable.

So, please, list your favorites and why they are your favorite. The why is important as what appeals to you someone else may not have thought of and could shine a different light on things someone has never thought of before.

I will add mine in later as I don't want to dominate the thread. I'm more interested in what others like as far as housing. I've seen a lot of them but I'm also hoping to get recommendations for those I might've missed. :)

Is that your favorite? I've heard of or seen most of the house mods out there. Just want to know what peoples' favorites are.

My favourite Morrowind house will always be 'A Good Place To Stay'. I started using it before the expansions and I love it mostly because of the alchemy storage jars, each one labelled and pictured and more importantly in alphabetical order. Since I first used it the designer added quite a bit. Obviously he added new alchemy jars for the new ingredients found in Tribunal and Bloodmoon and he also added a practice dummy and armour mannequins. And an optional teleport.

I know its a bit cheaty but I do love it.

Only problem is that with my current use of MGSO there is a problem in the bedroom where some object is not rendered correctly (not a modder so not sure if rendered is the correct word) and there just appears to be a bright squarish box in the middle of the room and that when I tried rebirth there was a massive rock in front of the entrance!

Does anyone know of a similar mod that will work with both MGSO and Rebirth?

Mori Mountain Estate in Balmora.

It uses the same location as a good place to stay, next to Narcarla's alchemist shop.
The 'estate' has a librarian that will take the books (vanilla and some others) you give her, make dupes to put on the shelves and places the originals in cabinets.
It looks pretty cool when full or near full.
An armory with lots of mannequins, labeled containers for weapons, display stands and a practice dummy (can increase weapons/destruction skills).
There's a pool and MORE storage and enemies in a sort of hidden place.
The alchemy area has a white rat that will sort your ingredients into individual containers, lots of shelves for potions and more mannequins for your magical robes.
You buy the estate and can choose to buy a teleport ring (one way only - to the estate).
No healing shrines (Temple or Imperial Cult), no uber cloths/armor/weapons/alchemy gear/etc, unless you enter the dungeon Image
and no crates or barrels of rare/exotic ingredients.

I've never used Rebirth so I don't know about conflicts with it.
The only problem with MGSO (patched) is a tree growing out of a roof. It looks odd but doesn't impact anything not on that roof.

It's one of the first things I buy when I start a new playthrough.

@ Scozzar Did you use the Ravenloft TradingHalls also? Made selling tons of crap so much easier. Definitely overkill.

Thanks very much Dalos. Sounds great! Unfortunately for no reason that I have been so far able to discern Rebirth places an extra rock in the game world right in front of A Good Place to Stay's front door! I have not experimented enough to find a way around this as I cannot get MGSO working correctly at the moment. Even though I have followed the instructions! But I've been busy with other stuff.
