Rough Seas- A Tale of Pirates!

Rafael nodded and took a few steps towards the stairs leading to the inner sanctum, but he stopped and gestured for Aveline to come with him.

Deciding they weren't needed here anymore, Jacob and Angeline headed through the mist.

Aveline went with the rest through to the inner sanctum. She was still in pain and would let out a groan of pain every few seconds.

"What's going on?" Nuah called "Understand what?" Her eyes saw the gem. Whereas many would fight over it and demand it for themselves, Nuah saw: 'I'm cursed! Touch me and be cursed too!'. "That Gem should be protected and the rest should be barred from entering this room. That Gem is going to cause a fight, Nathaniel are you alright?" Nuah spoke, very concerned about that giant gem.

"Let me help you." Gingerly, Rafael wrapped his right arm around Aveline to support her, his hand resting on her right side, to help her walk. In his left hand, he still held his lantern.

"I do not need help... [&@%!] this hurts." Aveline told Raefel in the same pained manner.

The Temple-Inner Sanctum
All of the others arrived to see the massive diamond. Nathaniel turned around in surprise. "This is why we, or I, came here. This is what's left of the Protectors. What they fused with when they cursed the island's inhabitants." He explained. "And he is here to end it. The first and last of his kind." With that the Old Man turned around and grinned.

"I must have that diamond!" Aveline said in a greedy manner before letting out another groan of pain.

Francis stood in front of the crew that had been assembled on the deck. He looked over them all, doing a head count on them. Judging by their current state, they had been forced into this recent conflict, with no knowledge of what had happened, so they could not be held responsible for what had happened. Those who were responsible for this fight were now dead.

"Stand up. Do not be afraid. I hold no ill against you. I consider you free of crime, by the King's command. Which of you is the most senior here?" asked Francis, as he addressed those cowering in front of them, his eyes scanning around.

"Your greed will kill you Aveline," Jacob said, "What are the protectors?"

"It will not. [&@%!] this hurts... I mean, what the point of being a pirate if we have to restrict ourselves to what we take? Look at that diamond, It is unclaimed and all the captain of the Lady would have to do is claim for us to get it. Imagine how much it must be worth. Think of all of the coins, all the pretty things you can treat Angeline to. Think of the improvements you could make to...[&@%!] shoulder, to the lady." Aveline said to Jacob. "[&@%!], anyone got any rum I can use to dull the pain?" She asked everyone.

"We stay alive by being careful you idiot," Jacob said.

"You're going to end the curse and take the War Diamond with you, Wizard the Lorekeeper?" Nuah asked. She dubbed the Dimaond 'War Diamond' because it was something that would cause a war.

"Or we take the diamond and continue to stay alive. What if it holds the power to wipe out the entire british fleet? Imagine a sea where we can plunder to our heart's content. Imagine never having to face the British again. Imagine tying admirals to cannons and watching as tehir remains sink to Davy Jones's locker." Aveline said to Jacob.

"God, you really are stupider than you look," Jacob stated.

"Ambitious, perhaps--but I don't like all this...curses and magic and demons. Is this diamond dangerous?" Rafael offered Aveline his flask, holding it to her lips, but not making her drink if she didn't want to. She could smell that it was very strong rum. "Drink up. Doctor's orders."

"And yet, I stole command of your ship." Aveline said to Jacob as she drank the strong rum. "That is some good rum." She said to the doctor after drinking it. She felt the pain fade from her.

The Inner Sanctum
"The Protectors watched over this island for millennia, until greed controlled the populace. Now it is time to release them." The Old Man grinned. "That was my duty as the founder of my order, and I deem it the time to carry it out. Unfortunately, I am not likely to survive this, even with my power. Which is why I brought young Nathaniel along." The Old Man smiled, unphased by what needed doing. Nathaniel looked sad at this.

"I am, sir." A middle aged quartermaster said from amongst the crowd.

Abdur-Rahman stepped next to the rest of the people, walking around the Huge Diamond and examining it in silence. Wow... that's bigger than anything i could have expected...

Abdur-Rahman then stood still once more, waiting to see what Mr. O'Farleys next move would be. it would seem there was a plan at work, and while he maintained a healthy suspicion, Abdur-Rahman couldn't help but be a bit curious.

''What are you going to do?'' Abdur-Rahman asked the old man and Nathaniel, looking at them both.

"You can set the ship on fire with your hands," Jacob said, "Now I'm a bit lost, I have no idea what's going on."

"This is all nonsense." Rafael decided. He took a nip of his rum as well, and returned the flask to his side.

He looked sideways at Aveline. "You--? Fire? Hands?"

"That is good," said Pierre in reply to Jacob after joining the others in the Inner Sanctum, "Because neither do I."

"Yes but I also burn my hands and I dislike using it. I suppose I can show you a bit of my power as the rum should make the pain less. Jacob, what has that got to do with this? So what if I can set ships on fire. That diamond could hold the power to destroy entire fleets and we should make sure the british do not find it. And show them why Pirates are the real owners of the sea." Aveline said to the doctor and Jacob.

Leon stood amongst the wealth few could ever dream, These gems would do better lost at the bottom of the sea.. oh wait.. I've been to the bottom plenty, it's not as bad as everyone says though.

The man made his way towards the rest, something made him feel anticipated. Yet he withheld all urges. For now he was not Don Leon nor the laughing skeleton, he was a man who once pioneered the New World. As he walked he quoted "The red dragon, greed is it's envy, treacherous is thee, but lambent alone in your fate you shall.."
