Re: What's In A Username?
My username came of a combination of two words. First, Koukoutsapol, a communist name, which means "Corn is the queen of the fields". Secondly of Picolaton, which was a kind of folkloric bogeyman bird in Free County. (A French region)

Back when I joined, I was a big fan of a youtuber named UberHaxorNova, or Nova for short. I don't know why I didn't start with Nova, but decided to go with NovaPowered as powered combined with latin for new mean sI am powered by new people
(Sort of...). I decided to change it to just Nova because, well because stuff.
I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite forum on the internet.

Re: What's In A Username?
I was stumped on a username so I can up with Mehclalin
Meh= first 3 letters of my last name
Cla= First 3 letters of my middle name
Lin- first 3 letters of my first name
Meh+Cla+Lin= Mehclalin
I used to have a username on various websites called buttrflyr
I came up with the idea of buttrflyr because I used to swim butterfly in High School and the username butterflyer was taken.

Moeboid is a game that some friends and I use to play at school. You can still find it here: http://granddbz.originxt.com/zapspot.htm#Moeboid
A friend got a fairly high score and challenged me to beat it. After many hours of trying, I somehow managed to fluke an extraordinarily high score; more than triple his score. From then on, my internet name has been Moeboid to remind him of the fact.

Re: What's In A Username?
The story behind my user name is pretty tricky
namely because not even I know it's origins
From what I can say, it obviously sounds good and has a distinct style: I use one letter from the greek alphabet, mine being Beta. Next I add the first letter in caps(no spaces) followed by a double digit between 10-20 but can be used for single digits, so mine is B17.
In a grand total, it comes out as BetaB17 which as a nice flow, but can be split to Beta or B17 ^_^ but by no means do I enjoy people messing up my name
I can even use this style for other names>_> like ZetaZ15 or KappaK19 or even SigmaS7. Generally though BetaB17 remains my standard and serves as my primary online name for many things.
Now despite not even I knowing the story behind it
that doesn't stop my friends from trying..
Some assume it's because I'm a beta tester or referring to an actual beta. Others assume the B17 is a reference to the bomber class. It all really adds to my mystery, but it is what it is

Moon sugar is a narcotic in TES series, and it also happens to sound really really cute > w> and the -kind suffix is from Homestuck. Together it makes moonsguarkind which sounds girly and adorable but can actually be extremely harsh, kind of like me u wu

Re: What's In A Username?
the name I'm using on here, was only used in Oblivion, but it goes back further then that.
I've used this name longer then, I would say before about 45% of this forum was even alive.
I first started using this name way back in the pre-computer/internet, or shall i say, Dungeons and Dragons days, (where you used all those weird looking dice, which i still have)
and when I was in the Navy, that all we did.
for about 20 yrs it was shelved until i pick up the Oblivion game and brought it back to life.
theirs been many changes to it, as in family members being created, would keep the Hawk and last name Ve'Gal.
and add a color or something else to it. in Skyrim, it goes by RavenHawk Ve'Gal,
I've used Redhawk, ThunderHawk, RainHawk,
Hawk - because I love birds, predator types the most, Falcons, Eagles, Vultures.
Ve'Gal, - I'm not sure, think i just threw some letter together, then thought it be cool to add ' in it, which it did.
but on all other forums, I go by Wolfsbane_2, not like the other bane on here, I don't bane the Wolfs.(not saying that he Bane's wolfs, maybe he does, who knows, but him lol )
I couldn't do that, since I have actually adopted a few in the Washington state area.
One of them is actually name Blackhawk also,

Mine's alternate term for "random thoughts" I've become fond of. I tend to have a lot of them floating around up there.

Re: What's In A Username?
Hmm...I had thought I had posted in this thread in the past...guess not
My original username was ChaosDawns, the Chaos part was completely by random choice, but the Dawns came from the Mythic Dawn and the whole new age dawning motif
Later, I found myself drawn to having a simpler name...but just plain chaos was taken by someone that never really was around, so I decided to go with a title and N'wah wasn't taken. But everyone just calls me Chaos, so it works.

Re: What's In A Username?
The Dovah's username was just a random name he chose. In hindsight, I should have chosen Sheogorath as my username as it would serve as a warning of what to expect.

Well, for the amount of Dovah's on here, your username makes it easier to separate all the Dovah's.Dohvakiin2012 wrote:I wasn't feeling so creative that day...and I even misspelled it.

Re: What's In A Username?
lostlast... because my original name was terrible.
I used to be puckboy back in my late high school years when the 'Internet' was only young.
puckboy was because I liked Ice Hockey... but it sounded so bad when I'd have to give it out as an emailing address in University. So I went with lostlast, it had a weird ring to it... still use it for 90% of Internet stuffs.

Mine's from a favorite TV show of mine called Psych. I picked it because I thought it was pretty funny and I had no other ideas for a username.

Re: What's In A Username?
I invented this username on Deviantart back in March of 2003.
Even then there were plenty of 'Kitsune' 's, as it means 'Fox' in Japanese.
I decided to get inventive and mix 'uno' spanish for one with kitsune and got unokitsune, one fox.

Re: What's In A Username?
My user name is the smashed together name of one of my earliest AD&D characters. His original born-on date is Jan 18, 1983, and was originally a human wizard. It doesn't mean anything. It's not a mispelling of the beginning of the word Synchronicity. That album hadn't even come out yet when I first created him.
His original incarnation lasted for over a decade before giving way to his second incarnation, a Tremere Vampire from the 'gee, LARPing sounds like a *wonderful* idea, stage of my life.' One word: Oops. His next, last, and arguably most important incarnation, was a dark elf rogue in Everquest. During his EQ time, he went from a family guild role-player to seriously dedicated hardcore raider to class rep for SOE. I finally realized that he was destroying my life, and I abruptly quit the game, then to ensure I wouldn't pick the addiction back up I actually formatted all three drives on my computer along with throwing out all my install discs. It took over a year before I stopped wondering what I could be doing in-game if I had kept playing.
Since I quit EQ in early '09, I have not created another toon named Sincro in any of the games I have played, and the name is restricted to my forums username.

Re: What's In A Username?
Just realized I've never posted in this thread?
Well, mine is: I liked Zelda a lot as a child -I mean a LOT- so I picked Link for the first part. The first Japanese comic series I really enjoyed was called 'Bleach' and my favorite character was called 'Byakuya' so I picked uya for the suffix.
My username is Linkuya everywhere but one place.
