I'm with you, General. Never played it. Might have to do the same.

So far I've been tempted by a couple things, but keep reminding myself I don't have time for many games anymore.

Okay, checked the PaySafe card thingy (Mars, I was replying to Musicman and his Gamestop question), that's not a popular thing here, I haven't even heard about it, actually. Aaaaaaaand... apparently I can get one at three different kiosks within two blocks from my apartment. :wat: Steam forums say that people had problems with PSCs from some countries, like Croatia or Hungary, but it looks like everything is fine with cards from Poland (Steam is on the list of supported sites on the Polish PSC website and I'm correctly redirected when I choose that payment option). So I think I'm going for a walk. ;) Thanks, Mars!

I bought Antichamber and Dark Souls. Antichamber is a pretty cool experience, but I don't think it's worth buying. It's a nice puzzler but involves a lot of backtracking and trial & error and I can't stand that.
I have yet to install Dark Souls, but it was 75% off so I just had to have it.
Also, if, by any chance, Mirror's Edge is the next Community's Choice, buy it! Such an underrated game. Definitely worth its price.

@Musicman: Get it! I'm currently thinking about buying the Brave New World expansion, but I'm probably going to wait 'till the winter sale, hoping it gets a larger discount then.

If you're okay with the idea of never sleeping again, you should get Civ.

I've got so far Dark Souls and Borderlands 2, if anyone want to play with me http://steamcommunity.com/id/deathm00n/

Dark souls was a must buy, as demons souls is the second best game ever to me.

I've bought every DlC for Civ V and loved it all. Brave New World is a fantastic addition that tweaks the game just enough to fix things I didn't even know needed fixing.

Just purchased the whole Saints Row 3 bundle for $7.50 since I considered getting it a while ago and it seems like a fun game.

Yup, I recommend Civ5 too, and I agree that it's a total timesink. But all previous Civ games were like that. I think I've put over 1000 hours into Civ2 and 3 way back when. ;)

[edit:] Okay, so I know what I want - this is going to be an indie sale for me. ;) I'm getting 3 out of those 4: Fez, Bastion, Braid and Legend of Grimrock, now I need to figure out which one doesn't make the cut.

Enjoy Dark Souls! While the PC version is shoddy, the console version is one of my favorite games.

Happy to report that the PaySafe card worked perfectly, I'm just installing Legend of Grimrock (downloaded it from TPB to see if I wanted it, spent 4 hours glued to the monitor ;) ). Thanks again, Mars, you saved Steam Sale for me. :D

Now I just need Fez and Bastion on flash sales, and I'm one happy camper.

Bastion was on a flash sale earlier. Do they come back once they're gone?

Yeah, some of them do, I'm counting on Bastion appearing again. If it doesn't, I'm sure I can find something else to spend those few bucks on. ;)

You can count on Bastion returning. And dzio, Fez is on sale right now. -50% right now. I don't think it'll go lower, since it has been released pretty recently.
I just bought it and it's an amazing game. Definitely recommended.

Bastion is highly overrated and not actually that fun in my own humble and subjective opinion. I bought it on a sale too, and never finished it.

Bought Civ V. Been a hardcore Civ fan up until V; never bought it for some reason. Being $12.49 for the whole shebang was too tempting to pass up.

Actually, I do know why I never bought it when it came out: they took out religion. I know a lot of people didn't like it, but that was one of my favorite features in IV.

EDIT: Now I'm tempted to buy Surgeon Sim 2013 for [&@%!] and giggles. Hmm.

Oh damn, thanks, somehow I missed Fez. That would have been a definite fail, Fez was number one on that list. I absolutely love the 2D/3D idea, so I've wanted to get it for a while.

I'm not sure about Bastion, got a "TPB demo" ( ;) ) to check it out (I never pirate indie games, but I often download a cracked copy to test-drive it for half an hour and see if I want to buy it, or to decide how much I want to pay for HumbleBundle) and I thought it looked fun. I'm not exactly looking for a life-changing experience here. ;)

Oh, and Legend of Grimrock is great, if you like old-school dungeon-crawlers with some pretty smart puzzles and a rather high learning curve (at least compared to most new games).

[edit:] Seriously reconsidering Fez right now. Got another "demo" and first it took me about an hour to get it running (this happened at first:)
Hidden:

...and then it wouldn't hold the same resolution while it was running. So the first screen was nice 1920x1080, then it froze for a long moment, and then it jumped back to 1280x720, leaving half the action about 30cm outside the edges of my freaking monitor. Can't very well play the game I can't see, can I?

I found several sites with solutions to different Fez problems, but nothing works so far, and the number of people complaining about bugs is beginning to worry me. The user reviews on GOG are in two categories - people who managed to run it say "great!" or at worst "cool idea, but gets repetitive after a while", and the other half says "it's broken".

Abel (and anyone else who has Fez) - any ideas? Does it always act like a buggy Skyrim mod, or am I just having a bad day?

That's weird dzio, never had that happen. I did have a problem with my resolution though. The resolution didn't actually increase, it was just the same resolution with a large black border around it. :/ I'm playing at the default resolution now, but it doesn't really bother me since it's a pixel art game anyway.

As for your crash dzio, Fez had some problems at launch and received some patches. Since you got a "demo" of it, the latest patches haven't been applied yet (or maybe they are, check the upload date). So What I would do is, search for a "demo" of the patches online or just take a chance and buy it anyway. It's still on sale for another 18 hours or so.

Abel - got the latest patch, doesn't help at all. And it's a full GOG release from a reliable uploader, so I think it may be a combination of Fez not liking older operating systems (I'm on XP) and certain video cards (I've read that's often a problem). I'll fiddle with it some more, but I'm not very hopeful.
