From my perspective, most of the people I've seen saying they would get a PS4 over the Xbox One chose Sony because they didn't like the features Microsoft was offering. Rather than picking out the highlights of the PS4 as a console, they were going to avoid certain aspects of the Xbox One. Now that Microsoft has altered some of the those features, I'm wondering what the reasons are for getting a PS4 over an Xbox One. Those of you still leaning towards Sony; is it the price difference? The exclusives? The network? As I said, previously, a large percentage of the support I saw for PS4 was in the form of "it's not the Xbox One." Has this now changed?
Also, I am aware that that is a generalization, but it is a fair one based on the internet's comments as a whole. Don't think I'm singling any one person out.
I'll probably get both eventually but certainly like the PS4 better as of now. First for foremost, money is a huge factor in my decision, everything else is just nitpicking. For example, Even tho both consoles have 8-core processors, the processing power of the PS4 is supposed to be slightly better, and better is better. Other than that, I'm hoping all my PS3 trophies and my PSN account will transfer over, even though my past purchases clearly won't, because I have a ton of man-hours put into that thing as opposed to my Xbox360 that rarely gets played.
A couple of other features I didn't take a shine to on the X1 but you didn't mention is the TV stuff, anything that has to do with sports, and the integration with their other Microsoft products. I'm not trying to say that these things aren't neat or innovative (or a good way to get you to buy more of their stuff), it's just not geared towards me.
Also, I wasn't so upset about the DRM. Sure it was new, scary, and could of ended up a huge flop, but it also could of been revolutionary and helped save this downward spiral that our gaming industry is going thru if they stuck to their guns and made it worked, but whatevs.
.... and Xbox One is a
really stupid name.
