Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
I find Dwemer, Altmer and Dunmer most interesting.
Dwemer are very fascinating. Their intelligence, technology, cruelty... and I like how their aesthetics remind me of steampunk.
I love the Altmer. They are intelligent, have a long history, made a huge impact on other cultures and I like it how they are magic oriented. I genuinely hope next game would take place in Summerset Isle. I think we need more weirdness and magic after all these games (TES and other fantasy titles) which tend to favor the warrior types more.
Dunmer. My preference towards them probably has to do with the fact that they have been given tons of lore =P. They have an interesting history, full of hardships and controversies, and Morrowind is such a fascinating and alien place. I also like the general aura of the Dunmer.
I don't really have a least favorite though those cultures which haven't been given much insight to are in disadvantage. I must say I currently don't find myself very fascinated by the orcs but this may change in the future.

The Dragonborn dlc got me interested in the Dunmer and Argonian culture.

Bosmer, Dunmer, Snow Elves, Dwemer.
Least favourite would be Nords.
Edit: Forgot about the Kothringi, they seem really cool.

Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
I'd have to say the Imperials are my least favourite. Maybe this is just because they happen to be the ruling culture right now, and maybe this is because Oblivion was my first ES game and I haven't gotten far in Skyrim or Morrowind yet, but they seem to be the 'default' culture, and everything else is a variation on them. I haven't come across a lot yet that causes them to stand out.
As far as most favourite, everyone else
. I'm only just getting started looking into the lore (and my player-houses are full of books I've come across I want to read when I have time) so they're all mysterious and interesting to me.

I'd actually go to say that the Imperials are whatever you make of them, just like any culture. You could call the Nords the default race in Skyrim, as well as the Dunmer if you were playing Morrowind.skullclutter wrote:I'd have to say the Imperials are my least favourite. I find a lot of lore interesting but I particularly find the Thalmor intriguing, like I want to know more about them other than what I already know in the lore/history and the fact that they're the pricks who really hold the power.

Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
Many of the cultures and their traditions fascinate me<_< but I am actually very interested in the argonians due to how different it is. The same can be said with the khajiit, simply because they support more humble and valuable traditions that most just ignore.

I find argonians very interesting because of how different their culture is from the rest, and I like altmer and bosmer as well. I don't think I can pick a least favorite, they are all pretty interesting in their own way.

Every race in my opinion has it's pros and cons. For favorite would have to be the Dwemer because of their intelligence for the time.
For least I'd say the Imperial and Breton. Just general fantasy, nothing that unique.

Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
I find the Imperial history the most fascinating, considering how they began as slaves who had their previous cultural identities erased and then went onto largely homogenize Tamrielic culture under their banner - itself adopted from a foreign nation. The Imperials remind me a lot of Americans and Romans in the regard that they're more about ideals and government than any particular type of blood relations. Cyrodiil is a melting pot of culture and blood. The best qualities survive and thrive, and the others eventually fall away. That's an ideal society in my eyes.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
The Imperials and their Empires are fascinating to me, partially because of the sheer level of content and information we have on them (in Elder Scrolls standards). On the other hand, the cultures of Akavir, with their snow demons and snake men, are also extremely fascinating to me, partially because we know almost nothing about them. I want to know more about the snake men!
Least interesting? Hm. Maybe High Rock and its scattered little duchies and cities. Not terribly fascinating. Not many wars or crazy events. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

For me its Bosmer I find most interesting, and Imperials I find least.
Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
I'm obsessed with the Dunmer, Chimer, Imperials, and the Ayleids.
I would *love* for Bethesda to make a game set in the past that would focus on either the Chimer or Ayleids..

Re: The culture you find most and least interesting
I'll admit, that is the exact reason why I like the Bretons. I like alien things like Morrowind or the Argonians, but my favorite race is the Bretons. Mostly because I could picture myself as a Breton.Talthios wrote:I like Altmer culture the most, I have a post about it haha. I find Breton Culture to be boring,it's just like reading the medevial section of a history book.
The culture I find most boring is the Nords. I can't take the attitude that they have against magic. All of their "honor and glory through battle" attitude is just nauziating.
