Nice take on it. I haven't played in almost a month and before then I had gotten new mods. There is plenty of life yet to Skyrim for me. If it means a new ES in the next few years then whatev.

He is a heretic, calling Morrowind "that" with arrogance. I say we burn himbaratron wrote:Morrowind - a friend of mine just played that for the first time
On topic, I will not have major problems because the isn't anymore DLCs. I played Oblivion for so much time and it was so fun even knowing there was going to be nothing new.

They are not. Zenimax Online is a different team entirely from the team that made Skyrim. The latter is most likely moving on to Fallout 4.matticus88 wrote:I assume the dev team behind skyrim are mostly on ESonline now.

Re: No More DLC?
The thalmor isn't a problem only located in skyrim, and in fact compared to many other places they have a relatively limited influence there, so I don't understand why people would assume that they would be dealt with during this game.
With the end of the world prophesies done with for the time being, they had to leave something on the table to build around for the next game

Re: No More DLC?
Judging the weight of the Thalmor, I think we'll be seeing them yet again. They are a force to be reckoned with and I'd honestly rather they got their own story instead of being supporting actors on stage. I really loved the lore behind them and would like to see the chaos they've created unfurled and shoved back at them.
And, actually, I was okay with "another Daedric prince" episode. I haven't played Dragonborn yet, but it'd be weird to think that the Daedric Princes wouldn't want to tap the most powerful hero around. The gods in the TES universe are real entities who are always tampering with things and toying with the strings of destiny, and the Princes are notorious for this. To deny their involvement in history is a little silly.
And it's a running joke, when you think about it, just by looking at the last three episodes:
The Princes are neither good nor evil, but they love chaos. And boy, are they good at it! I always like seeing how they're involved.

TES6? The new project was described as having just left pre-production: Considering Oblivion was started shortly after the release of Morrowind, and Skyrim was started shortly after the release of Oblivion, it'd make sense for TES6 to leave pre-production about now... Guess we'll see sometime around 2018...deathm00n wrote:There was this teaser from Bethesda https://vine.co/v/bFPjjheVnau But they said it ins't anything related to Fallout. So you're saying that ES6 is going to leave Tamriel and not only emerge itself with the real world, but be in the point of time when barbed wire coils and Bach are around.

Re: No More DLC?
There's a lot of hostility in this thread, against the people who gave you Skyrim. Why should they have to make more DLC for you, when they have already made one of the greatest games of this generation, and you are complaining? So there are some bugs that could do with fixing, but don't tell me every other game released patches every single bug contained in it. Maybe instead of attacking Bethesda, we could just remember all the memories we have of Skyrim, and the ones that are still to come.

Re: No More DLC?
I'm a bit disappointed that they won't be working on any more DLC, but at this point it didn't look like there was going to be more anyway. I think it's good that the entire team will be working on their next big project.

Re: No More DLC?
BGS did not give us Skyrim, they sold it to us and when we pay for "one of the greatest games of this generation" we have every right to complain about its bugs, lack of DLC, and everything else under the twin moons. And on the subject of DLC, BGS game studios could have released at least one more to include a true conclusion to the Dragonborn's story. I, along with many other players, were ready to throw our cash at BGS for the next DLC. And who at BGS doesn't want more cash? Why? We met the Champion of Cyrodiil, I wouldn't be surprised to see a masked cultist with leading dialogue.GodsBePraised wrote:I can assure you that we won't run into a canonized Dragonborn. We won't see a cultist either. They won't set a canon fate of servitude.

Re: No More DLC?
I think Skyrim had enough DLC to be honest. It was overall of a higher quality than most of Oblivion's DLC with the obvious exceptions of KOTN and Shivering Isles, which were second to none. They kinda dropped the ball with Hearthfire. I can forgive that, though. It was ok for what it was.
Personally I look forward to the next adventure. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They did okay by me with their last few games. I'm gonna stay positive and eagerly await what's coming at e3.

Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

Because the Dragonborn doesn't have to become a servant of Hermaues Mora. You can deny him till the end.Chaos the N'wah wrote:Yes, because the new Sheo is some random hobo that stumbled on divinity

Re: No More DLC?
Quality over Quantity. So even if we did only get the same amount of DLC, the quality of that content is arguably better. I would absolutely not want to see more DLC just for the sake of giving more than Oblivion did if the content isn't up to par.Archer wrote:Fine, I'll give you that. But I still think its foolish stop the dlc when it reaches the same number that we had in Oblivion. Think about it- Dawnguard=KOTN, DB=SI, and HF= all of the small house dlc's that we got. Maybe its just me, but its seems like you should strive to do more than what you did previously. That seems to be the only way you improve yourself and your products.Br3admax wrote:That's not a fair comparison, considering that Skyrim is way more advance on the same system. If it was next gen, maybe. But it isn't.
You don't have a right to complain about lack of DLC. It's extra stuff that they add to the game, and if they decide not to go through with it, that decision lies with them. It's nice when the continue to add to a popular game, but they aren't required to. As for a "true conclusion" to the story...its an open world RPG. You can play the game and never touch a single questline (apart from the intro granted), so everyone's story is truly their own. And there is a canon Dragonborn, or they will have decided on a canon by the time the next game comes around. What was really left unfinished?Ri'Zahr wrote:BGS did not give us Skyrim, they sold it to us and when we pay for "one of the greatest games of this generation" we have every right to complain about its bugs, lack of DLC, and everything else under the twin moons. Now I know many people talk about the bugs and glitches, but I have personally come across very few, and the ones I've seen don't always happen, so its not a persistent problem for me. Maybe I've just gotten lucky, or maybe I can just overlook some of the things in the game, but again, to me, bugs were never a problem. And if people are/were really so turned off by bugs in this game, why complain about the lack of more "buggy" content?

Re: No More DLC?
The point is, if Bethesda had been behaving like a group of professionals and learning from its mistakes over the past decade, more content (and even the game itself) needn't and shouldn't have been so buggy.
It's the public spewings of the knee-jerk apologetic fanboys that consistently reinforces the one message that Bethesda has taken to heart: "We don't need to bolt things together more robustly; these uncritical simpletons will continue to buy our flawed wares and gush over them in public."
