First Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magik Obscura playthrough in probably 3 years. Liking it so far - enjoying Virgil's voice acting a lot more than I remembered

Probably shouldn't play the game at a higher res than 1280 or 1366 - the characters get puny

Loving it! I have 62 hours put into it, which is rare for me nowadays, to put into a game. It's a fun game, but also can be very hard depending on the situation, and how familiar you are with it. So it can be a little intimidating, but if you stick with it through the deaths, you'll find a great game!

I've been literally playing nothing but Pokemon and Naruto Clash of Ninja 2 for the past week. Haven't even touched my Xbox. Now to change that.

Demon Souls at the moment. If you've not heard of it, it's that infamous game that is often regarded as one of the hardest games on PS3 and is responsible for many hulk rampages.

I'm at the Pentrator boss and died on first attempt. I'm playing as the royalty class and aiming for a battlemage. It's challenging and can be a cheating [&@%!] at times but it is fair as it's usually the case of figuring out how to kill the enemy. I defeated Flamelurker by using Thief ring, cloak and soul arrow. He didn't stand a chance. Only took me 5-6 attempts before i used that. Also defeated Dragon God but that is more of a puzzle then a fight. The key to winning in DES is not to play it as a hack and slash and be patient. Lure out enemies so that you fight them one at a time as it's very easy to get overwhelmed. Oh and if it looks like will kill you, it will.

I played it this whole weekend and I can say that to me it's the best game of this generation. Killed 4 bosses yesterday: 3-1, 4-1, 5-1, 1-2. Now I'm facing the Flamelurker, after suffering with those fire bugs in those dammed tunnels, I've reached him, entered the battle and died within less than 1 minute. How the hell am I supposed to kill him? I didn't see any weak spots and I can't evade him, he always hit me with the exploding punch. And to think I need to kill evey fire bug again to reach him and propably die again...

By the way, I don't use magic, I started as Temple Knight and I'm making a full melee character. So far it worked quite well...

The problem is he pressed me against the fog wall before I noticed and used 3 consecutive times the exploding punch. I tried hiting him, but I did no damage. Maybe it was because of my Dragon Halberd +1

Will try it again but this time with my Falchion +3 enchanted with White Sticky Stuff, read in a guide he is weak to magic. I will send you by PM my PSN ID, maybe you can help me in the weekend? The only days I got time to play.

Avoid using dragon weapons as they inflict fire damage. I killed him with nothing but soul arrow but i had invested a lot of points in magic.
