Pronunciation

Post by MattFlan »

Hi there.

Just a brief question regarding the pronunciation of the word for Saturday in The Elder Scrolls Games, Loredas.

Me and my friend had a minor disagreement (Yes, nerds ;) ) over how you pronounce it.

He says 'Law- Dass'
I say 'Lorry-Dass'
Or perhaps it's 'Law red ass'

I was wondering if anyone here knew the correct way of saying it? Sorry for the random question.

Jäger. As in the whiskey. Which is yes, "yaygur". Jäger bombs are an alcoholic drink. And yummy. But I said Jagar bomb. :p I thought it was funny.

For me, "Low-re-duhs" or "Lo-re-dahs".

But I guess everyone in Tamriel pronounces it differently. You and your friend can roleplay with different backgrounds.

I pronounce it "Loar-duhs". But that's me and my screwed up pronunciation.

I pronounce Jagar "Jag-ger". :|

I always saw "Loredas" and immediately identified lore, but I much rather prefer the lor-ee-das version some of you have.

To me it's Law-red-us, and for Jagar is Jay-gar.

Bit of a quirky subject but it's actually quite interesting to see all the different pronunciations people have.
