Legate Rikke fails to appear for duty at Korvanjund
I am attempting to get started on the Jagged Crown quest at Korvanjund where Legate Rikke has sent me to meet her. I've arrived at the meeting point and troops are waiting for me but no Legate Rikke, only a target arrow where she should be standing.

In apothecary shops, some things are free, others theft
When I am looking around an apothecary shop, without talking to the shopkeeper, there are many things I can take freely, but others will be flagged as a theft were I to grab one. How is it determined what is free to take and what isn't?

Re: who will fence my stolen rings?
I see that quests have to be completed for any of the fences to work, I settled on that slimy lizard at the Winking Skeever, Gulum-Ei, and unloaded my stuff. Thanks!

who will fence my stolen rings?
I've been trying to get rid of pricey jewelry I've stolen and can't find anyone to take it. When I talk to vendors and try to sell, these stolen items don't show up on my list of possessions to sell. I assume when I find someone that will take them off my hands, they will appear on my list. So who ...

followers: Marcurio the maniac vs Serana the sedate
Since I have reached level 50, I've been looking for challenges and choosing mods that provide leveled opponents has worked well for me. In the process I discovered there is a difference in followers even though they have the same specialty.

Re: follower face down on ground, still talking and followin
AFAIK, the only way to kill a follower is to do it yourself, which I did accidentally in a melee.
The give away that the follower wasn't dead in this case was my ability to talk to her.

follower face down on ground, still talking and following
I went out giant hunting with Serana. In the fight, she got laid low and I retreated to restore health.
As I retreated, Serana's body, still face down on the ground, slid right behind me. After "dragging" her out of range of the giants, I found I could talk to her, so she was alive, but she would ...

can't sell Dawnbreaker to blacksmiths
I'd like to sell the sword Dawnbreaker. I have found that I can sell it to armor vendors, but not to blacksmiths, though blacksmiths will buy every other weapon I have.

why is Farengar's map without pins?
Normally, when a map of Skyrim is present, it has pins indicating the holdings of the Empire and the Stormcloaks, but the one in Farengar's "office" is empty. Maybe it's because he doesn't like the war (so he says) and has taken them all off in a fit of pacifism?

Sanguine Rose makes dragon killing easy
I was going crazy running all over the place in dragon fights trying to avoid the dragon's breath.
With the dremora created by the Sanguine Rose staff, you can stand in one place and let him do the fighting while you concentrate on the Dragonrend shout to keep the dragon on the ground.

Re: Skyrim Addiction? Retired, but having hellafun.
I've got 250 hours in, compared to over 2000 on Sid Meier's Civ V, but that's because Skyrim is perfectly suited to playing and pausing. With Civ I can never find a place to pause and hours pass without my realizing it.

Re: how to reopen shops of killed shopkeepers?
Adrianna has a seperate merchant's inventory from her husband which results in Warmaiden's having 2 merchants to trade with. He won't take over her shop as a result of that. But i think her death does cause him to become depressed and Warmaiden's just gets closed down as a result. The relatives ...

how to reopen shops of killed shopkeepers?
In Whiterun, Bethelor (Bethelor's Goods) and Adrianna (Warmaiden's) were killed in a fight with intruders at the main gate. Naturally, their shops were then closed. I thought that by bringing them back to life, they'd be back in business.
So I resurrected them both. Bethelor immediately went into ...

Yes, I've tried and I thought something was wrong until I read (Brady game guide) they have no souls to capture.Marelo wrote:Have you not tried to capture a soul from one? Because as far as the game and lore are concerned, they do have souls.

the value of souls
I've been using soul trap regularly and never leave home without a supply of soul gems.
Is there a ranking of the amount of soul contained in the different creatures? I've found that giants and mammoths give a good amount and I think humans are higher still, but is there a numeric ranking anywhere?

I've avoided all of these issues by not fast-travelling or waiting, however if you must, fast travelling to the stables outside of town might give them enough time to get set before you enter. ( the few places with stables that is )

Dawnguard without buying it?
It's my understanding that Dawnguard is a DLC for Skyrim.
All I purchased was Skyrim itself without any DLC's on Steam
A few days ago, I had just entered Whiterun and there was a fracas at the gate by Warmaiden's. In the battle the intruders were defeated. It was announced that the Dawnguard quest ...
