Re: Dragon Riders [DR] -Ebonheart Pact PvP - North American

I don't think you're yelling at the right crowd here, bro.

Overall, yeah, but I'd expect we do have a handful of people here who enjoy competitive multiplayer. I do (even though I haven't been active on this forum for awhile) although I already have my eye on another guild.

At any rate, it can't ...

Re: Rise Gaming / Daggerfall Covenant / PvX

That website gives me a 403 when I try to access it - is it having problems or something?

Aside from that, this sounds very promising, and I look forward to checking out the website/forums.

Re: I'm new to modding and have a few questions

When you click the "launch" button in OBMM, if you have OBSE, it'll automatically launch the OBSE loader instead of going directly to Oblivion.exe. So if you launch through OBMM, you don't need to go through obse_loader.exe. The CTD-on-exit is pretty standard AFAIK; I wouldn't worry about it.

I don ...

Re: What race would/will you choose?

The Dunmer have always been fan favorites; it's why I avoided them. I figured they would attract the most people and didn't want to be stuck in a sea of mostly everyone and their mother.

Yeah, I originally said Dunmer/Nord but now I'm thinking either Altmer or Breton. Of course this poll isn't ...

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!

Owyn?
I think he fits in quite nicely:
Often seething - duh!
Spurned from love - I'm pretty sure he has a thing for Ysabel Andronicus, but she refused to marry him.

Right! :D Spends all his time underground in the Bloodworks, almost-full iron armor, etc. And you'll notice that in the last line, I ...

Re: OBMM question

I'm not an expert, but I can answer a few of these questions. Each mod should not require a new game unless it specifically says so in its description, which is pretty rare.

The left side of OBMM shows .esp files. Not every mod has those - e.g. texture packs like QTP3 just change textures and such ...

Nope.

Hint: the last line is pretty important - there aren't too many situations in which leaving an underground area is dangerous.

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!

It is indeed. Your turn! :D

Oh jeez, I forgot I'd have to make the next one. Never done this before, so it might be a bit on the easy side; it's hard for me to tell:

Underneath the earth I dwell
Covered in a metal shell
Often seething, spurned from love
Death comes when you go above

I don't ...

Re: Oblivion Trivia!!!

The one to the north is Tivela Lythandas (searching for Rythe), and the one to the south is Kud-Ei (searching for Henantier).

4 and 5 from Tivela = el. 1 and 4 from Kud-Ei = ke. So we have _elke. A bit of searching turns up the Ayleid ruin Welke. UESP says "Welke is an Ayleid word that means Child ...

Re: Oblivion underrated within the TES community?

No one is singing songs about the Champion of Cyrodiil.

Maybe not, but everybody's talking about the Hero of Kvatch. They say he actually went into an Oblivion gate and destroyed it!

Good observation! I would agree on the appealing to a bigger mass note, certainly. I don't think that's ...

Re: Oblivion underrated within the TES community?

Perhaps. Bought Oblivion around when it came out, played it for several years, bought Skyrim last February and logged 300ish hours in it, then decided to go back to Oblivion. So Oblivion is my favorite between the two, I think (though I haven't played Morrowind). For what it's worth, the things that ...

Re: Funny/interesting pictures, events and stories

I have that happening almost constantly for Skyrim. I guess my characters just like standing on horses.

Anyway, I was going through the whole siege of Kvatch thing the other day. Savlian Matius was being his usual weak self and getting knocked out constantly. Everything was fine until we got into ...

Re: Any good overhauls yet?

I was going to start a similar thread since getting a bit bored with some aspects of scaling after my first 22 levels. I was looking at Skyrim Gems under "Gameplay Overhaul", and some of these mods in turn recommend some single aspect overhauls such as Balanced Magic and Community Uncapper that ...

OOO builds

Starting Oblivion (with OOO) after years of not playing it much, and after playing a few different types of characters (at low levels), I'm kind of curious what kinds of character setups have worked for you guys in the past. Most of all I'm curious if anyone's had much success with melee-based ...

Re: Skyrim and tes combat

In some ways, Skyrim's combat isn't complex enough. Look at all the stuff that's been taken out since Morrowind for example.

Agreed. Maybe I'm just prejudiced because I've been playing fighting games and other RPGs lately, but Skyrim's combat system is really simple (although not as much as ...

Just installed Bigger Trees and had to take a few example shots. It's surprising how much a simple scale change can make things look better in this case - it really contributes to the feel of being in a foresty area.

Re: Create your own guild

I think there should be some "good" faction for stealth based characters. Rather then stealing for money, you would use stealth, infliltration, and speechcraft to solve crimes and stop evil doers...for money

Yeah, I'd love something like that. It's annoying when sneaking always gets shoehorned ...
