Re: Are animals nicer than humans?
I dunno guys, chimps spiking babies on the ground so they can make another baby with the mother is, while a good idea to pass on your genes, a really mean thing to do.

I can't name any of the songs. I'll just tell you they are by GWAR. Youtube them (and they are definitely not safe for work/children/anyone). Offensive as heck. Makes me feel good.

Re: The UESP health thread.
I have Marfan Syndrome. Check it out on Wikipedia. It's pretty crappy.
For those of who don't bother, the short of it is: my joints are absolute crap and are getting worse. I can't go up stairs without the use of the banister. My aorta doesn't expand properly and I bleed into my chest when I do ...

I'd still like to dual-wield shields. You know, just Bash everything to death. Be cool if you could put up your shield and pretty much just shove someone into a fire or something to kill them. Be hilarious.

Also, from a scientific side, an arrow is much more likely to pierce the hide of a dragon than a sword. Pierced organs = death if not treated. Woo for physics and basic anatomy.

I've done a similar thing with Magic: the Gathering. Problem is, most webcams are not able to show cards effectively at any distance and most people play in what is actually poor lighting. We don't notice it because our eyes work a little different than cameras. You can try it, but it might not come ...

Re: Best RTS Games
I see a disturbing lack of Total Annihilation. TA was a pretty great RTS with two groups, The Arm and the Core. In this game, you started off with a Commander who could build stuff and reclaim blown up machines/buildings. You generated energy for your buildings with Geothermal stations, solar arrays ...

Both my lines af heritage have been here before the US existed, so I have no "immigrant" blood. I can't think of a single direct relative that came from Europe to the United States after the Mexican-American War.

ITT: Lifehacks
If you're not familiar with "lifehacks" they are just tricks you can do to save time/money in your life or making your life healthier with little effort on your part. Basically min/maxing reality.
I'll start it off with a short list of my personal favorites. Feel free to toss in your lifehacks.

I mostly agree with you. I quite enjoy rooting around shops in ME to find fish for my fishtank.
I'd also submit that some RPGs are playable with little to no combat. Back in the day, I used to play Ultima Online and I had a toon that never went into combat. He made all of his ...

After I move to my new home, I'm digging up the yard to make a koi pond. I'll toss some tadpoles up in the piece too, see if I can get some bullfrogs and koi chillin'. But for animals to be more pet-like, I'm looking at rottweilers and some kind of large bird.

Re: Achieving higher fps?
What is the point of 700 frames per second? If that's not a typo, that's simply ridiculous. The human eye can't even detect that many. Generally 50-70 is the highest you need, but even that's pushing it. Heck, Halo 3 is locked at 30 FPS and doesn't chop.

I've been a Pokemaniac for...jeez, about a year before Red/Blue hit stateside. I'm old. I've played every Pokemon title ever made and I have to say, while HG/SS is a longer game, B/W is best for coming back to the game. Why? Because the game has NO old pokemon until you beat the whole thing. It ...
