Hi there, everyone, I seem to have run into a nasty predicament, and a quick search of the forums didn't turn up an answer.
During the Path of Dawn quest, I got the third commentary, then decided I'd like to pick up another sigil stone before I did the rest of the quest. I went to an Oblivion gate, and was in an Oblivion cave when Baurus came up to me, and told me to meet him at the sewers. He disappeared after a little bit, so I assumed that he'd left. I proceeded to close the gate, and went to the sewer entrance to find he wasn't there. A little looking around reveals that he waits for you to follow him if you get too far behind. That means he was in the Oblivion gate when I closed it. Now, I usually quicksave my way through the game, and I don't have any recent saves before I closed the gate. Now is there any way to reset the position of Baurus using the CS, or would I be able to go into the same Oblivion Gate and find him there? Or am I stuck with reloading a much earlier save game?

That will respawn the old fella...problem may be he's still alive but totally lost in the game, so you'd have use the console to compleate that stage of the quest maybe...bah it could just be easier to roll back to a earlier game!

From what I know and have experienced even if people fall behind or are waiting somewhere, as soon as you go through a door or area that prompts a loading screen, they will be with you when you have loaded into the new area. Due to this what happened was probably a bug, and not just Baurus getting lost or stuck in the gate.
You should use the console to either spawn Baurus, or to advance in the questline. Console commands and info on how to use them can be found here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Console

Thank you much. I spawned Baurus and he picked up on the storyline. I then realized it'd be a long walk, so I decided to map into the city and "move" him to me there. I hadn't yet realized this spawned another copy. So, I got in the sewers, and whoops! There's another Baurus. No worries though, I finished the quest, and the other Baurus is just standing there. Thanks!
