Speaking to town people

Hi:

I am playing Daggerfall.

I am unable to talk to the town people.

I am a common citizen in this game.

I do not believe that I have done anything to have this happen.

Can anyone help me out.

You need to make sure they are 'looking' at you (its when they stop and stare at you intently) and make sure you're within 'touch' range (so right up close to them) and then press the spacebar, which is the default activation key and a menu should popup with dialogue and such.

If you got a message saying "You get no response" it is possible that your reputation is very low. Try doing knights quests. They will raise rep with commoners. You might beware of your reputation with the Dark Brotherhood however.
